Only the good (expensive) stuff for my skin...

Every year as it inches near by birthday, I go through each step of my skincare routine and see if I can improve on it. I've decided that every product I put on my skin should have skin care benefits and not just be "good makeup". A primer should not only make my foundation last longer and look smooth but also help me maintain youthful skin. This primer has amazing ingredients as all BY TERRY products do. I actually apply my spf light lotion (let it absorb 15 min) and then use the BY TERRY Terrybly Densiliss Primer as both my moisturizer and primer. It's pricey for a primer. It's pricey as a moisturizer but if you can use it as both?! I say it's definitely worth it. It's a nice, creamy serum so it actually hydrates your skin without making it feel greasy. I find that foundation can be applied almost immediately after you use this. If you're using a serum foundation like I am - YOU NEED THIS. Don't make the mistake of using serum foundations without a proper primer that is also serum - it will never look amazing as serum formulations needs to absorb into the skin to really work well. It smells beautiful and goes on even better. You can really tell BY TERRY uses the best ingredients simply by how your skin absorbs it.

LIKE SILKY SKIN

Okay, so this foundation makes my already pretty good skin feel even better. When I wear this, my skin feels softer than my actual skin because of the great formulation. This foundation doesn't oxidize on me like many do and I found that my match actually stayed my match until I washed it off. It has anti-aging technology (mimetic factor) and I believe it's this innovation that keeps it looking fresh throughout the day. It's great for late 20's onwards because of this (if you're concerned about preventative aging). I'm going to replace my YSL Fluid Ink Foundation for this because it performs tremendously better.

Great silicone alternative

If you want to stay away from silicone due to skin sensitivity or simply because some of your make-up formulas don't work well with silicone primers, this is a good alternative. It feels light like a moisturizer. I typically let primers set on the skin for a few minutes before I apply foundation so that it has time to work with my skin. For this primer, apply with clean hands in a patting motion.

I've used this with just a powder foundation and it has worked well (no piling or balling!)

Professional MUA still using these!

These were one of the first brushes I purchased when I first started diving into the world of make-up. I became a trained professional make-up artist with MANY varieties of brushes but there's a great consistency of quality with these. I still use the small crease brush and flat shadow brush as I find it picks up a good amount of powder without fallout when applying/sweeping over the eye. It's SUPER soft so it's actually perfect for blending out shadows without dragging colors over one another which can create a muddy look with shadows.

It's great for beginners or if you're looking for a simple travel set. I have not seen much shedding with these brushes and it's a bonus they're cruelty free!

I took one star away only because it's too cutesy for me too use too often (as a professional mua) but I do use it on myself!

Multi-functional palette for any skin tone!

What can I say about this palette?

For the pros: this is a must in your kit. It serves both as your foundation palette but also has your concealer. With the range of colors you're able to skin correct and do natural contours & highlights. A little goes a long way - for a sheerer finish mix with a primer before applying to the skin. Can also be mixed with other cream correctors from Ben Nye (color wheels) OR MUFE Flash Palette! I've used this palette to create aging, skin conditions or other minor effects for film.

For day-to-day use: Mix foundation colors to create the perfect tone for the season. This palette is great for use with different skin tones on their face (darkness around mouth or light on the forehead). Instead of "masking" your skin tones with one color this corrects it so it's actually smooth, consistent and flawless without the heaviness.

Apply with a blender sponge and make sure to work it into your skin to warm up to even coverage.

Perfect, flawless, TV Host skin!

These cream foundations are my go-to product when I need to create a flawless complexion for TV! A live tv studio (think newscasters) requires much different make-up than a film set or even high-fashion photoshoot. My magic formula to making this NOT CAKEY is to mix is directly with a primer on a palette and apply with a synthetic foundation brush. I set with a translucent powder using a puff and pat it in in a rolling motion so that you're really pressing the formula onto your skin while picking up an excess make-up as well.

Great alternative for typical primers

Many primers on the market contain silicones or similar ingredient that fills in lines and blurs imperfections on your skin. They work for most people but when you find the silicone start to "pil" or ball up it means your skin is not absorbing it the way it's intended OR that your foundation has ingredients in it that repel the the primer. This primer is a serum so it works a bit differently. It actually absorbs into your skin so that your skin becomes a smoother, more plumped up surface for foundation to glide on. Instead of just sitting on top of your skin like some primers can do, the serum provides a base for your make-up.

I recommend this for those with combination or dry skin and works best with a liquid foundation!

Lasts through anything kind of lips

You'll need a fine, synthetic brush to apply OCC lip tars. They really last through your day and rarely need applying even after a meal/drink. As a MUA, I love these little tubes because they were easy to carry in a kit (not bulky) and no need to worry about cross contaminating product for clients. The shades are opaque and I found I didn't need a lip liner if I used a precision tipped brush. Of course, that is up to you. I would use a good lip balm or primer underneath to moisturize the lips as you won't be applying lip balm on while this is on! I I find that it dries to semi-matte finish and is definitely more in lines of a lipstick rather than a gloss.

Good coverage if you're not into liquid

If you have fairly clear skin and minimal breakouts and don't have the need for a full-coverage liquid foundation - use this! Paired with Korres primers, it evens out your skin tone without totally taking away your natural contours in your face. It's non-drying but also does a good job keeping oiliness at bay. It's semi-matte and fairly opaque so it can be used with either a light liquid foundation or without.

Great for lighter, golden tones.

This is a great variation for those with lighter skin tones especially with yellow/golden hues. The salmon color (bottom right) is perfect for counter coloring the greyish hues in undereye circles. I suggest using a synthetic concealer brush and blending with a natural fibre crease style brush.
