Evelyn Lauder Dies at Age 75

Evelyn Lauder passed away from ovarian cancer in her Manhattan home Saturday. Not only just the beautiful daughter-in-law of cosmetic legend Estée Lauder, Evelyn devoted her life to bringing breast cancer awareness into the spotlight. She developed the pink ribbon campaign in 1992, and gained over $330 million in donations to open the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This funding also helped launch the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer center in New York City. With the help of celebrity supporters and Evelyn's tireless efforts, the pink ribbon has become an icon for breast cancer awareness globally.
