Evelyn Lauder Dies at Age 75
Evelyn Lauder passed away from ovarian cancer in her Manhattan home Saturday. Not only just the beautiful daughter-in-law of cosmetic legend Estée Lauder, Evelyn devoted her life to bringing breast cancer awareness into the spotlight. She developed the pink ribbon campaign in 1992, and gained over $330 million in donations to open the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This funding also helped launch the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer center in New York City. With the help of celebrity supporters and Evelyn's tireless efforts, the pink ribbon has become an icon for breast cancer awareness globally. We thank Evelyn for all of her contributions and wish her family the best.
