So I was in Sephora the other day with my friend and the one woman who worked there was so creepy I just had to share lol. The store wasn't busy but it's not like we were the only ones in the store. We were in there for about 10-15 minutes and within that time she came over and asked us if we "needed help" 12 times! I would also catch her looking at us all the time and following us around the store. Every time I touched a makeup sample to try it on she would be right by my side asking if I needed help. I specifically went to Sephora to see if they had gotten in the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer because they had been sold out for like 2 months. I saw that they had one left so I opened the package just to make sure it was the right primer in there and this woman kept questioning me as to why I was opening the box. Then even when I was waiting in line to pay she came up to me and asked "can I help you with anything?" I actually thought I was about to punch her lol. I have no idea if she thought we were suspicious for some odd reason I don't know what her deal was. Anyway I just wanted to share my weird experience. Have any of you had strange experiences in Sephora?

My friend went to sephora to get her makeup done. like an example for her 15 and the lady did her makeup like a straight up witch. never again did she go there.

I'm sure she was being protective making sure you guys wouldn't steal. you guys probably looked "suspicious" lol that was still very rude of her though going up to you that many times. if she wanted to keep a "close eye" she should've from a distance. I would call the store and just put in a complaint. loyal customers shouldn't have to feel stalked. helped out yes. not stalked. she was being a stalker lol

Whenever I go to sephora, the ladies like follow me. They'll ask if I need help, and I usually don't because I know what I'm looking for, but they will like watch me. Maybe it's because I'm 16 and they think I'm going to steal something.. But I've been going to the same store for a long time and you would think if I was going to steal stuff I would've but I haven't so they should stop watching me like I'm a wild animal! Ugh 😣

Or maybe she was being told to go up to you guys. I used to work at Victoria's secret and we would call suspicious customers "red flags" so whenever there was a red flag the store manager would make us pretty much stalk the ppl to make sure they wouldn't steal. I know ridiculous.

I know how you feel, I have super sensitive skin so when I shop, I'll put a product on my hand and wait 5-10 minutes while looking around to see if it gave me hives. The sephora closest to me most of the staff know me well enough that they know what I'm doing. But I went to one a few weeks ago that's on the other side of the city, and I put a kat von d lipstick on the back of my hand, walked around for a bit looking at everything and this one girl just couldn't understand after I explained to her, that I'm not looking for anything except this lipstick and I just wanted to see if I reacted to it, and she acted like the thought of someone having sensitive skin was outrageous, she followed me around the whole time, every time I'd stop to look at anything she'd ask me if I'm looking for a new palette, liner etc.whatever I was looking at. It got so bad I had to leave after like 10 minutes because I felt she thought I was going to steal something. I was going to buy the lipstick too, but she bothered me so much I didn't even want to be in the store anymore.

Wow girls those are some crazy stories. I'm afraid I'm the exact opposite. it takes me forever to get help. Maybe I loom young or something so they don't think I'm actually going to buy something but I don't go inside sephora unless I absolutely need something. so it's frustrating I guess.

I had a similar experience, the hovering makes it so awkward to try out products 0.0.

My anxiety makes it a bit worse because in my head I'm thinking "they think I'm going to steal something" T.T.

Yeah I assume she thought I was going to steal something even though I've been going there for the past few years and would never think about doing anything like that. I just like to take my time and check out everything :p But it makes you feel so uncomfortable when they're stalking you.
@Alyx I do the same thing! I like testing them out first to see if I'll react
