I would never, ever use rubbing alcohol, unless you are looking to completely ruin your brushes. That is way to harsh and drying on the hairs and bristles. Try something like dish soap, baby shampoo, olive oil, or conditioner. I just use the Brush Shampoo from Elf and it's only $3 and works perfectly. Good luck!

I definitely would NOT use rubbing alcohol :/ that'll most likely destroy the bristles, at the very least. most people usually mix olive oil & either an antibacterial dish soap or baby shampoo c:

Try a mixture of a cup of water, some dawn and a little viniger. I've always used this method and my brushes are 2yrs old. I use rubbin alcohol only on my gel liner brush bc its the only thing tht take the black gel off of it. tht brush is also 2yrs old and still good:)

Mix up 3 tablespoons of antibacterial hand soap with 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil in a bowl. Get a good amount on your bristles and then swirl and swipe back and forth on your hand till you see the makeup coming off and then rinse with lukewarm water. This method is great as it cleans, sterilizes and conditions your brushes in one process.

3rd on Dr. Bronner's magic soap/Peppermint, I just started using it, its my new HG and I won't ever stop using it :) before that my HG was Walmart MU brush shampoo/about 2.97-3 it works really well but its not amazing like the Dr. Bronners's.

Bronners works wonders for removing the makeup but isn't helping to remove the bacteria ladies...

I have dipped my brushes in alcohol and they are perfectly fine for deep cleaning though I would use baby shampoo if you do use alcohol get 91% or higher rubbing alcohol the al ho will also help disinfect the brushes
