I recently purchased some eyeshadow lip gloss and lipstick that all totaled ver $40. I was wondering how much are you willing to spend on makeup. I could see used spending $100+ on a makeup shopping trip but not $100 on foundation or a single item.
What about you?

Depends but quality quality quality is all I have to say.
If I'm going to be throwing away money on make up I'm going to do it right 😉

Depends how much I have. But I usually spend atleast $1-$10 at a drugstore everytime I go. But every now on than 50-100 on high end brands.

I usually prefer drug store products because they are easier on the wallet but in total I have like $250 in makeup.

I have at least or over $1000 in makeup, so I guess I don't really have a limit on makeup in general. I like quality and texture. I don't think I would spend $100 on a single foundation but my foundation atm is $45. I would however consider spending about a $100 on a single skincare product if it works good. :)

Kitty K you're right. I know girls that love cheap makeup because it's cheap. They think all makeup is the same. I feel like sometimes it's good to invest money in good makeup.

I spend a lot on makeup if its worth it and I try to substitute some drugstore brands into my makeup if the quality is good. I use loreal true match and I like it better than my past purchases: smashbox liquid halo, MUFE foundation, Benefit Hello Flawless, Dior Airflash, Urban decay naked skin. So in this case cheaper was surprisingly better. But I can easily go in sephora and spend over 100 dollars... Easily.

I agree with Kitty, quality is the most important for me. A good product is a good product no matter the price. It doesn't matter if its cheap or expensive, if it sucks, it sucks lol. But I do see a general difference in my high end stuff and drugstore stuff. I don't really waste my money on drugstore stuff anymore. There are a few exceptions but I find myself disappointed a lot with the majority of main brand products. So I will save up and spend a little more for a product that is of better quality. I feel thrilled with a $60 palette that is good quality, and like ridiculously ripped off if I spend $4 and the product sucks lol. That probably makes no sense but yea lol. I don't have a problem shelling out money for something good though. Like my average total is anywhere from $50-$100.

Depends on the item and the quality. I have nothing against drug store brands, but a lot of them don't meet my standards. There are also some high end products I frown at. Like, once you use Sugarpill eyeshadows in a look and the amazingness of how the colors actually blend together and feel it's kinda hard to use other things that don't so that to (I'm looking at you Too Faced a la mode palette). Like my eyeliner at minimum is $20 and the mascaras I use are at least $22-$32. Lipsticks I try not to spend over $22 on. Eyeshadow on the other hand? If I like it and the quality is good I really do not care. I ordered pretty much all of Sugarpills products in one fowl swoop here on Beautylish a few months ago and while it was expensive it was worth it as the quality of those shadows is phenomenal. So if it's worth it I will splurge without a second thought, if not, nope, stay in the store I don't want you.

So Erin what's a good eyeliner that's dark black and long lasting?

Depends on the product. I used to always buy makeup without reading reviews first and most of the products were terrible and ended up in the trash. Now I don't buy and beauty products without checking out reviews first. I also try samples first for things like foundation to see if I'll like for my skin, even if it has a good review.

One item? My limit is $50, I have to be in love with the product. For a shopping trip, I don't go over $200, each month.

I'm a drugstore shopper lol. Occasionally I'll splurge on something from Lush.

I'm more of a drugstore shopper just because I live closer to everything and its hard to get to a sephora for me.
my limit is $50 for a single item though. if find a high end product that I absolutely love and 'need' then I'll get it. lucky I'm not an eyeshadow girl. I'm more of a primer and foundation girl. so this week I'm planning to get my self a new print and foundation from sephora (:

To me makeup has no price I'm willing to spend $100 or more on one product doesn't matter what it is but it must be worth the price that or the packaging has to be breath taking lol I'm a package freak I like things that look nice especially on eyeshadow palettes the only time when my makeup has a shopping limit is when there is other things I need to pay or get ( a new phone but have spend my money on makeup lol)
