Wear something that you would normally wear to church maybe a little more formal but not too formal maybe a dress with a blazer or jean jacket if you can find that.

Is that a christening? Sorry I'm not religious.. To my nephews christening I wore a cream high necked dress. I agree with Mary definitely wear a blazer or jean jacket with it.

A knee length dress would look good as long as its not to reavealing

Hollister has these super cute maxi skirts, you have to be careful though, some have cuts on the sides of them. They are around $24. You could wear a simple graphic tee but I think a knitted sweater or a long sleeved shirt would be better, this is just because of the event. Whatever sandals would go well with the skirt.

Usually a baptism is a formal event (or at least semiformal). Think conservative business casual: knee or below for hemline, no exposed cleavage or shoulders, close-toed shoes with little to no heel.

It is better to be overly conservative in church than too casual. You don't want to disrespect the institution (even unintentionally).

If you've never visited the church where the Baptism is taking place I'd follow Emily W advice just to play it safe.
