I shop often but don't spend a lot of money at once (I work in the mall and at a clohing store). also I have like no responsibilities when it comes to money really. when I went to the us I went to ross and I found it so cute and affordable and I like target too. you really have to try stuff on to know if they're nice. I also recomment getting a lot of basics like jeans and simple tshirts or camis and cardigans and then play with accessories. thats what I do because it costs less. I have class in two mins but feel free to write on my page so I can help you more.

There's really nothing wrong with buying clothes from Walmart, especially if you're a girl on a budget (: I also like to look at clothes on the discount racks in more expensive stores. most of the time you can find last years summer clothes for VERY cheap.
I don't shop very often for clothes, but when I do I usually spend a few hundred on them.

hope I could help a little! xx

I am a great shopper, all I need is 30-50 bucks to come home with tons of stuff. I won't buy anything too expensive knowing I can get more with that price (unless its a MUST have). I usually shop at forever 21 because they have everything without paying an arm and a leg. Also thrift stores I've heard have really wicked deals.

I'm 16, jobless and my family doesn't have much money. So when I feel like that, or I gain weight and have nothing to wear (which happened on the weekend lol), I go to thrift shops. Goodwill or value village, I bought a pair of jeans and a summer dress for 7$ on Friday. And my mom bought a bunch of work clothes for 30$. Or try places like stitches, urban planet, etc, where the clothing is cheap and are decent but not great quality. They will only last a couple years, but I find I usually end up giving them away before they start getting ratty. They usually have massive sales, like this weekend the stitches near me had a "entire store 15$ or under" sale, and I got a sweater, 6 shirts and 3 leggings for less than 60$.

I would start by building your closet with basics. It helps create more versatility and outfits that you can mix and match and repeat. My favorite place for basics is H&M. I went there Saturday and got a plain black crop tee, a pencil skirt and a pair of leather shorts for about $45. Not bad at all. Since you don't have a car you could always shop online!

Agree with Antonia, start with some basics that you can mix & match. I don't shop often either because I'm a stay at home mom & my bf works as a cook at Applebee's. nothing wrong with walmart. I actually just saw two super cute dresses there the other day! thrift shopping is good too. you can find really amazing deals. I've gotten two pairs of converse thrift shopping & they were both under $10. one pair looked brand new! forever 21, Burlington, Ross, tj maxx, Marshall's, & jcpenney. jcpenney has the best coupons. my grandma always has like $10 of $15 coupons & other ones just as good. so I definitely recommend checking them out. also, always check clearance in stores! :)

I shop every now and then... But one really helpful tip would be to pick up some really well made basic and staple pieces. This way you can style them in many different ways and have many different options :) hope this helps :)

Well I think you should start by buying the basics some jeans shorts cardigans I really feel like cardigans are just so useful because they just look great with anything and they also flatter all sizes for places to shop I love outlet stores I always shop at outlet store and I love it I find so much for a great price I never really spend over 30$ I also love thrift shops I mean one girls trash is another girls treasure both places are reasonably priced I can't afford much either so I understand :D

I don't buy clothes very often but when I do I generally spend more money on quality shoes, jeans and jackets and go to Penneys for cheaper tops so I can buy more and switch things up more often. If I'm being completely honest, once a year I'll spend like 200- 400 on a new wardrobe and then very little the rest of the year, only really buying as I need it..

I don't have any stitches or urban planet in my state as much as I know of and I know there isn't anything wrong with walmart it's just I'm so bored with it lol and I will definitely have to save up because I've never been in an h&m or forever 21 I've only been into rue 21 and deb I do have to say I love love love their clothes I kinda wish I still lived with my mom because she use to buy me clothes and now I rely on my husband and we can't get much :/

Girl I feel like we are so similar. I have this issue too like I always think I want to update my wardrobe but the second I get extra money I spend it on makeup. I only have scrubby clothes or super dressy work clothes. The last time I went shopping I just bought work clothes but for regular clothes I can only buy like 3 shirts and I get over welmed with it. I like wet seal because its cheap but I like the stuff at forever 21. I can usually find a cute shirt or dress at target too (:

I also am self conscious about my tummy and I always feel the best in flowy tops.

I actually get overwhelmed and resent shopping because if I see something I like and try it on it won't fit me right and I get so down about it and it like ruins the whole fun shopping trip so that is another reason I don't go shopping.

Its true h&m has cgeap basics. and I knos it can get discouraging (I have a muffin top) I just try and wear stuff my size and not go smaller because it can get annoying.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I SCOUR clearance racks every time I go to the store, and I have found some amazing deals for so cheap. Check out targets clearance racks , where I got a two very cute shirts and two formal pairs of pants for 14$!! I'm not joking when I say I understand your situation to a T! I went from wearing a sweatshirt and jeans everyday to dresses and chic outfits! Check out forever 21 as well! They have a lovely selection of clothing for tighter budgets! I am a huge shopper and I can use 20$ and come back with two and a half outfits! Like Antonia said, start with basics, like say a pair of khakis, a pair of black pants, versatile jeans medium wash, a black cardigan, tees in neutral colors, then begin to add accessories like statement earrings , and then a fancy dress, then get two fancy blouses that you can wear with either pair of pants, ECT! That's how I began my new wardrobe and I get compliments every single day on my outfits! I am still currently on a tight budget, because I rely on my mom for money until I can find a decent job to support my bad habits! (Shopping, makeup!)

Also, If you want to find flattering clothes just try things that you think are cute in until you find something you like! That's the way I do it! If you are curvier, PEPLUMS are a godsend! I have several and I love them!
