I'm using pros aid no tack with paint to paint my body in order have results that won't fade or go away until I want them to but I'm not sure what to set the black paint on my arms and neck with. I'm a little afraid that if I use pure white setting powder it'll make the black less stark and more gray. Any suggestions?

Translucent powder is what I'd go for. It shouldn't change the color at all since there's no color to it. Nyx's is my favorite, it's $9.99. You could also try Mehron's body paints and their barrier spray in the future. Or you could try their barrier spray now. I haven't used it myself so I don't know how it would perform on anything that isn't their own brand of paint. That or I think Ben Nye makes a setting spray. The only thing that may be inconvenient is that Mehron is mostly online. I don't know if you have time to wait for shipping and whatnot.

How is Mehron's staying power? That's my number one concern. I need something that's going to stay put allll day through sweating, heat, won't rub off on something if I sit, won't rub off on my boyfriend or other cosplayers when pictures are taken, etc. The only reason I'm partial to pax at this point is because going off reviews it's not going anywhere or streaking which is exactly what I want/need.
But I think I may actually have a translucent powder in a box somewhere (in the process of moving @_@) by MUFE, so I'll see how that works. Thank you!

I've heard Mehron is amazing. I haven't tried the body paint myself but they look like they dry down very quickly and once you use the barrier spray they shouldn't move. I watch a girl on YouTube who uses their stuff for pretty much every cosplay she does (her username is KMnomokis and her Facebook page is Some Like It Blue.) and they don't seem like even without the spray that they'd move much. But I think for now the translucent powder should work the best.

I use Mehron Barrier Spray with Kryolan Aquacolors and my body paint didn't budge. I used spray, paint, translucent powder (e.l.f. Studio HD), then spray again and it was locked down tight. I painted about 80% of my body opaque green (including my hands) and it didn't rub/sweat off at all in the several hours I wore it. I'm sure the Mehron Paradise makeup would have similar results.
The nice thing about the Kryolan is that a little goes a loooooong way. I bought the smallest "refill" pan of the green, and barely made a dent even after three layers on nearly my entire body. It only cost me $4 and at that rate I could paint my entire body a couple hundred times before needing a new one. :)
I dislike PAX because it is really bad for your skin, and is extremely difficult to remove. However, a translucent powder shouldn't interfere with the vibrancy of the paint, should you go that route.

I've personally found that corn starch is the only thing that stays put through the hot stickiness of a convention. It doesn't alter the color and it doesn't turn my looks blotchy and such like krylon and other stage make up setting powders which start to blotch/fade. From my personal experiences, as well regular make up powders don't do much at all. I've also done shoots and movie characters and the make up sets without any touching up. organic Corn starch is also safe for all over the body and has no harsh chemicals so I can use it on actors/models with sensitive skin. Like I said before, this is what I found works best...I hope this helped and good luck finding your answer :)
