Keep it simple but put together. Court isn't really the time to express your individuality. A basic pair of black slacks with a button up tucked in, heels (not too high) and ballet flats. I would wear the least of amount of makeup that you can get away with. For me that would be foundation, filling in my brows and light coat of mascara. Hair I would put it up in a sock bun.
This is the exact outfit I wore to a job interview (not exactly court) but the people interviewing me were impressed and I got the job.

My advice to you as someone who volunteers with my local PD.

I personally would not do a cat eye or any eye make up other than mascara.
You are very judged on your appearance at court. And the judge/circuit clerk will not hide it in any way shape or form. I advise you go strictly business attire if you want to be taken seriously. I have seen judges and circuit clerks make a mockery of people for dressing up like they are going out or dressing casually. You do not want to be embarrassed in a room filled of people by a judge.

I advise that your hair is pulled up and out of your face, you can wear your hair down as long as it's not out of place and nowhere near your face.
No fashion statements, the judge will point out and laugh if it is out there enough. That includes long nails, the claw nail trend, loud colors and designs.
If you want to wear a skirt or dress please wear a panty hose. ( Clubbing skirts and dresses are not attire for court and they may even deny you entrance in general. )
Do not walk in with the highest heels ever.. please lol.
I would wear a business jacket. ( It does get cold. )

Think very conservative, very professional, very neat and clean. Stick to neutral colors.. Browns, Grays, Navy, and Black. And do not try to be 'cute', the judge/circuit clerk will stand there and point it out and mock you for it.

Just maintain a professional standard and you should be fine.

I say no makeup if you really want to where makeup do the no makeup makeup, hair wise you can just do a pony tail, if your going in for if its a simple trafic sitation or none felony type of thing you can dress casual jeans and a simple shirt preferably black, if your going for something serious you got to dress up and wear dress clothes and no the judge won't point at you a laugh but he won't look it good upon if you dress like you going out.

Well, my uncle is a lawyer, and I used to work as his assistant for some time. Whenever I'd go to court, I wore a gray or black suit (dress pants in the winter) skirt with a nice blouse and blazer any other time, with some flat dress shoes or small heels. I'd try to look as professional as possible. I'd wear my hair back in a bun, or pin straight. For makeup, I'd wear a light foundation, a line of eyeliner on my upper lid (No wing) and a little bit of mascara (nothing clumpy, very natural looking) and a natural color lip gloss. I've seen people dress less professional too. I remember one time I went, and one of the clerks was wearing a purple sweater and some brown cowboy boots 😕

Last time I was in court, I saw so many inappropriately dressed people and I was stunned! I agree with the other girls, keep it simple, professional, and neutral. I would
Makeup: Clean, clear face.. whether you need a foundation to do this or not, just keep it nice and clean. Mascara and tidy brows if necessary. No cat eyes.
Hair: It looks like you have bangs, I would pull them off of your face with a headband and either leave it down and straightened or pull it back into a very neat ponytail or bun.
Nails: I would use a nude shade or just put on a clear top coat and clean up the shape.
Clothes: anything appropriate for formal business wear. Conservative length skirt or dress with pantyhose. Don't wear any fit and flare, skater skirts, or anything tight. Go with a structured, quality material in an A-line or Pencil skirt silhouette. Wear dress slacks if you don't want to wear a skirt or dress. Makes sure everything FITS. Its sooooo important that your clothes aren't too tight or too loose. Anything too tight and it looks ridiculous and inappropriate, anything too loose and it looks too sloppy and careless. Wear a sweater set or a blazer over a nice blouse. Keep colors in neutral shades. Make sure everything is clean and ironed or steamed.
Shoes: Low to Medium Heels, in a neutral color and fabric (no patent leather, animal prints, ect) without any embellishments. You can also opt for a flat shoe if you are more comfortable.

Don't forget to speak with respect, stand up straight, and don't fidget with anything.

Good luck!
