Looks more of a natrual finish to me. What did you use?

Caitriona H.
Maybe my mind just sees a real dewy finish as oily. :/
I used Max Factor CC Cream, Bobbi Brown Concealer and \bourjois blush

Yea it really does look more natural than dewy... I also think that a true dewy finish looks really oily. I don't understand the hype.

@Kendra At least its not just me then.. Ok thank you ladies! I think natural finish is about as far away from matte as I'll go ha
Does anyone know what the difference between dewy and glowing is??
Mar 15, 2014
Janae H.
@kendra if it looks oily then it's not a true dewy finish☝️
@caitriona dewy and glowy are about the same thing. Dewy skin favors more for people with dry skin like myself cus it's gives me the glow I don't naturally have. If you have oily skin its best to go the complete opposite direction and go with matte cus it's best for your skin type lol
You could always go with a simple cheek highlighter to give you a glow if you don't wanna get a whole new foundation and take a bunch of extra steps :)

It might be a dewy finish actually, just the lighting doesn't justify it.

@Janae I have dry skin too :) normally I prefer all matte and full coverage but my skins a lot better now so I'm trying to branch out and experiment :) Maybe I've been looking at wrong images and watching bad youtube videos but that 'dewy' they do just looks like someone needs a blotting sheet rather than healthy and youthful haha
@Gen I'd take another photo but my natural lighting is gone :/

I would consider it dewy :) I can see the sheen and if you had flash photography you could definitely tell. I think the more shiny dewy looks are more for evenings where you're in low lighting. So yes, it's slightly dewy in my opinion

I see this as dewy as well and don't feel the lighting does this justice. There is a soft sheen..a gentle glow and the skin looks hydrated with just a hint of dew on the cheeks. It's truly lovely. :)

I don't understand the dewy hype either. I have never seen a human being whose skin naturally glows, or any of that other jargon. I think it is just a trick that someone made up to sell more makeup.
Anyway, your skin looks great regardless. :)

Well I've done some research and healthy skin actually reflects light a little. I noticed when I exfoliate more and use regular lotions my arms have a slight sheen to them and without makeup it had a little but I think the makeup industry really made it more noticeable with makeup and put more emphasis on it being that way.

Also, dewy skin happens when you go for like a jog and such and I think that's what they also tried to resemble. They like how the skin had that slight dewiness.
