I have very oily skin and think I have a solid cleansing routine but I've recently started breaking out and I'm pretty sure it's because I haven't always worn foundation or had a real routine, but I do my best to combat that with daily cleaning, moisturizing, masks and so forth but I still have the breakouts.

Any ladies have advice with this particular matter? Thanks in advance!

You should figure out what is causing the breakouts if it's because you started a new foundation maybe consider the foundation might be making you breakout - so maybe switch to a more noncomedogenic foundation - otherwise it could be other things like hormones or diet changes so just examine any changes to your skin care routine and/diet to try and find the route cause and then go from there.

Thanks so much...both of you. I don't drink enough water...I'm trying to train myself but it's hard for me. Thanks for the reminder...as I browse the papa john's menu. I know pizza won't help with the skin either. Lol. Thanks for the help ladies!

Lol I feel you on that's shonna me n pizza have a special relationship :P but I do try to eat more veggies like spinach n chicken salads and more water is a must for sure - to help me I always carry a bottle of water with me wherever I go n try to drink water with every meal that helps me to drink more water throughout the day.

I highly doubt it the foundation. Truth be told foundation molecules are to big the penetrate the skin. Foundation is meant to sit on top, but skin care is made to be absorbed!
If you still think the foundation is to blame check the way you apply it (are you using clean tools and hands?) and/or the way you're removing it ( are you still leaving traced of product on you face after washing and do you tone), you may have bacteria build up.
I alway use a white hand towel to dab my face dry after I THINK I'm finish washing. It reviles anything that's left.

I had súper oily skin about a year ago and then I discovered good ol coconut oil.
At night I take off my make up with nutragena face wash or dove beauty bar I use a toner ( sea breeze) or make my own ( rose water and a few drops of tree tea oil. So here comes the coconut oil. That's my night time moisturizer.

With all the soaps and toners you have basically sucked up all the oils from your face so what does your face do? It over produces oils. With you adding coconut oil it stop the process of oil producing. Coconut oil is so light and it should be the organic one it won't clog your pores and it will help with scaring if you have any :)

I don't use a toner but I'll pick one up and hopefully it helps. I've heard about coconut oil and I actually use it on my hair but when I tried it on my face, it made my face feel dirty. I wanted to wash it off right away so I haven't tried it again. And I resisted the pizza last night although I may not have the willpower today.
