Jacqlyn, I feel like our medical records are identical...I had a long history with acne (like you) literally have tried every single medicine you listed and finally went on accutane. Now I know the stories behind the medicine can be rather intimidating but let me tell you I have never been happier! I went on the medicine May of my senior year right before I graduated high school. I finished in November of my freshman year in college and my face barely breaks out now. I had cystic acne and had some scarring, this past summer I had the CO2 refraction laser surgery and my face is finally everything I dreamed of. I do still use differin and benzaclyn as maintenance but really it's a world of a difference! I know first hand what it feels like to be so embarrassed to look anyone in the eyes worrying they're looking at your acne and accutane really gave me the confidence I needed.

My mom was worried at first but my dermatologist really helped make a decision as a family unit. I wouldn't recommend going online and reading the reviews of other people because more often than not you're going to only read the really bad reviews over the positive ones and that'll freak you out! Best of luck to you and let me know if you have any questions!

I take Oracea. It's a pill you take every morning. It's really cleared my face up, but it makes you extremely sensitive to the sun. I recommend it, but if your going to the beach or something stay off of it for at least a week, and in the summer you'd only take it once or twice a week. Hope this helped!

I don't really recognize those, I assume you got them doctor not over the counter. Sorry if I missentrupretted. Personally, I like Proactive. I can see results fairly quickly, a one to two day time span. At the mall I go to, if you need it quickly, there is like a vending machine that has it. It's no-commitment, so you can buy it without having to get it every 31 days. Neutrogena has an oil free acne wash, you can buy that at a drugstore.

I have found the holy grail to acne. I have suffered with acne since I was in 6th grade and it was horrible and it never stopped. In December of 2013 I was browsing through the internet and I came upon a website called acne.org and they had a product named the regimen. So I did more research and I looked at reviews on YouTube and stuff like that. And all the videos were very very positive so I decided to give it a try and I'm not even kidding when I say this. My face was almost completely clear within 2 months.

Have you tried Retinol-A? My derma gave it to me and it cleared my skin. I've also use Mario Badescu drying lotion as a spot treatment on current acne and blemishes. Its cleared my skin so much! I also really like Tazorac.

I feel exactly the same:( I had acne when I was still 8 years old and now I'm 24. I tried almost everything. went from one doctor to another, tried a lot of regimens to the point of breaking down because of humiliation. 2 things I havent tried: OCP and accutane. which I think accutane should be the last option. still hoping some topical medicine or a supplement can save my face.

My main problem is my oily skin, its one of the main factors why I'm getting acne.

I know good effects from diane and yaz for acne. though I'm too afraid to take coz it tends to make the uterine lining thinner than usual if used for a long time. and I don't want to risk my fertility issue. I was a nurse for a fertility hospital before. I'm not discouraging you though, thats just my point of view:)

I forget my pill too Jacqlyn and my doctor suggested I try this new form, its the same as the pill but it comes in like a silly band that you put up your vagina (you take it out for sex) and it releases the hormones that way, you only need to remember to take it out for your period and thats it. You should definitely look into it :)

I've tried all of that too! And if you remember from previous posts I reacted poorly ahahaha. Accutane was a nightmare because it severely depressed me and made me throw up regularly (yukyuk). I've also noticed you don't particularly trust natural treatments so I won't give you any of those suggestions but I'm wondering if maybe you can talk to a gynecologist about birth control. As for the blood clots, I get that its a huge risk! There are brands and such that are less likely to cause clotting - I'm not saying its a GREAT alternative but it really helped me. Accutane is a huge decision (at least it should have been for me and I didn't think it out carefully. I only used it for a week because it was doing more damage than good). Good luck! I hope something here helped :)

Oh and sorry I wasn't able to get back to you, but Oracea is a brand name that your dermatologist has to give you a prescription for.
