I've previously used the Clairol #5n from Sally's, but I still have this annoying set of golden-brown streaks on the very top layer of my hair.

I have a set of extensions that are a #4 chocolate brown (by the companies standards); and just before Thanksgiving used a Feria boxed dye (in #4 espresso) that has faded horribly already.

What dyes do you all recommend that will cover those golden strands but not come out looking black as my hair tends to absorb the darkest hues in dyes.

I've also added a picture of the extensions, taken with the flash on, to show the color I'm trying to achieve.

John Frieda makes a foam dye that's a bit pricey but works really well. I forget the exact name of the color I use, but it is a chocolate brown and I've loved the results.

Thanks! I've seen the kind you're talking about but was always kind of wary of it being foam. I'll have to look into it. :)
