Aside from primer, what can I do or use to get my eyeshadow to blend more smoothly??
Mar 22, 2014
Nikelle B.
I usually first apply a transition or skin toned color first before applying the colors I want to use.

Ya Nikelle I tried that. For some reason my eye shadow is not blending well lately.

Use more transitional colors between skintone and darker shades. If that makes sense or what Nikelle said. And also use a clean brush for blending.

What kind of shadow do you use?

Set your primer with a powder. I actually like to use Hourglass Luminous Light of for a bit of shimmer, I'll set it with Mac Soft & Gentle Highlighter.

Mary I've been using my coastal scents palette.

If your products and tools haven't changed make sure your technique hasn't either. Remember to keep a light amount of pressure when blending. Mattes are also tricky to blend so maybe try using a shade with a sheen or shimmer to it.

Like amanda said apply light presure a transition color helps have you changed eyeshadow quality?

Maybe I've been applying too much pressure and I was using two matte colors. I'll try your suggestions. Thanks ladies!

I agree with what Amanda said. Also try using a third color that's in between the other two colors. Just add a tiny bit of the middle color between the two colors to blend and around the edge of the dark. I don't have costal scents but I do have a bh palette and heard they are similar and it's a little tougher to blend the darker colors easily but very doable. I do think your makeup in the pic looks pretty😍 keep goin girl!!
