Highlighting and contouring

I have the highlighting and contouring routine down pack but for some reason it don't show up right when I take photos. I use my flash because I don't have bright lighting and my pics always come up looking ghostly. Can anyone give me any tips to get my pics to turn out right I want mines to pretty and glowing like everyone else look on photos.

If you wear an SPF under your make up, it does have that effect. On the other hand, you should never leave the house without SPF. There the irony. Sorry I didn't help, but it does happen to me.

Usually it comes down to the application of the products used.Contouring is a shadowing effect it's an illusion of structure you should not see it at all.When you add blush that may stand out a bit but that's all that you would see when it comes to that technique.As well as Highlighting it should also be subtle, nothing should look Two toned it should be a beautiful balance of application.SPF has nothing to do with any flash back from a camera :)

So I creeped your pics and I think your profile picture actually nails it! You may have to review the tones of your foundation. I don't really know why but many tones for darker skin tones tend to leave the face looking ashy. What kind of foundation do you wear?

It actually has nothing to do with SPF, what products are you using?
Mineral powders usually have reflective properties, like mica which can be very reflective. Illuminating products / highlighters/ and some mica based products ( Like MUFE HD powder ) are very reflective in general. When photographing they should be placed properly, as they can be done so over easily. Applying concealer that is too light can also contribute to the ghostly effect given.

If you want your contour to pop in pictures or last longer I would use cream products to contour and then set it with powders. I use Bobbi Brown Foundation stick in the color Chestnut and blend really really well and then set it with a powder bronzer like MAC's matte bronzer. I always contour the hollows of my cheeks, nose, temples, forehead, and jawline. When you contour these areas it really gives you the appearance of a balanced face. I only do this cream contour when I know I'm going to take pictures or go out and want it to last all day...this isn't an everyday thing for me.
