So the area around my lips has been super dry for a while now. It goes away sometimes but then it comes back. I put Vaseline, lip balms, lip butters, but they only help temporarily. Please help how do I get rid of it? It's red,can be itchy, can be flaky, and it hurts. Please help.

It's kinda hard to see in the pic but the skin on top of my upper lip and a little of skin under my lips is all what I described above

Don't use a lip scrub and stop using Vaseline, Vaseline doesn't help it actually makes it worse. Just start drinking more water and keep applying a lip balm.

Try a nice, thick lip balm with no petrolatum or petroleum jelly in it. It's going to be expensive, but I highly recommend the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. It's organic, super hydrating, very thick and non-irritating. Available at Sephora. My other suggestion would be the Lucas' PawPaw ointment. It's not as thick, but it's also natural and nicely hydrating. You can order that from Beautylish. Do you know why this is happening to your lips?

I don't think Baby Lips by Maybelline are a good choice because they claim to be hydrating etc.however majority reviews I've read on the internet state that they hydrate for about 15 minutes- if that! I believe they are more for a fashion/tinted lip butter sort of product! Burst bees is always good, also skip lipstick for a while or change the brand of Lippie your wearing now :)
