Hey guys! I've struggled with acne since 5th grade and to this day I still have acne and severe scarring. I managed to get it under control for a while but recently I've been breaking out more and more. Nothing in my diet, skincare, or makeup routines have changed. It's not severe right now but it's still very disappointing that my acne is coming back. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can get rid of my acne? I have oily sensitive skin btw.. Thanks in advance ladies!

I haven't had good experiences with derms in the past so I'm hesitant to go back. :/

I have oily sensitive skin as well. Two things that really work well for me would be the Herbalism cleanser from Luch and the gentle skin cleanser from Cetaphil.

Zeleste, I use that in the evening. It is gentle and effective.

Llesenia, I agree that you should see a derm. You can do recon on Yelp or Foursquare first to ease your nerves..see photos and read first hand accounts and experiences.
I recommend purity or CeraVe..the entire line. I'd also use Bare Minerals "Blemish Therapy" for spots. Highly effective. Be sure to alternate with moisturizer. I'd also drink 2 cups of Green Tea daily to detox and reduce skin inflammation. For a toner, think you'd find Mario Badescu's seaweed infused toner helpful. Toning will help you maintain proper PH levels and removes impurities cleansers can leave behind. Exfoliating gently once a week should help as well.

You may want to look into a light peel..there are some reviews for them at Sephora, but proceed with caution and do your research. If a derm makes you nervous, seek out a reputable, licensed Esthetician. They may have treatments or valuable skin care advice to share..plus, it's relaxing!
