I'm going to put this in Intros since there really isn't a section for site-related questions.
Lately I have noticed that several interesting, relevant, and thought provoking threads have been removed without warning. The discussions were regarding beauty in a larger context and invited opinions from a variety of experiences. The topics were interesting and the posts were genuine and did not violate any rules. Why are these topics being removed?
I know they aren't simply being eaten by the forum software because I have been in the process of replying when I get the notification "Topic has been closed." before it disappears.
Lately the app/site has been bombarded by repeat questions, inane off-topic chatter, and repeated "reposts" from users who feel that people don't reply fast enough (occasionally there is a legitimate issue of no one seeing the original, but rarely). Are we not allowed to have any kind of respectful, cerebral discussion on this site? Or are we doomed to answering the same tired questions over and over again?
Forgive me if I sound a little upset, I'm just frustrated that whenever a refreshing topic starts it gets deleted whilst a hundred "how 2 maek hair longer please" posts are allowed to clog the forum...

I'm hoping a moderator or staff member can please clarify this issue.

Hello Emily, what topics are you referring to? I would like to help you out with your question.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU EMILY! One of my posts had been deleted and when I, finally, got a response I was told it had been deleted because it fell under the "wellness" category which was no longer apart of Beautylist because there were too many boards to moderate and not enough people/time/etc. I can understand that to an extent, but overall inner and outer wellness IS apart of being beautiful and FEELING beautiful. And as you said, there are so many repeat posts along with poor construction and grammar. So often I move on from threads because it is too difficult/annoying to read and make sense of, as well as I feel it is simply common sense... I really hope that Beautylish brings their previous categories back and restores our beauty community to its full glory! lol :)

Oh, I guess this *didn't* get deleted. It disappeared from the site (despite me going through the entire Intro section and searching). Weird.
Alma: At the time I was referring specifically to a thread about how ethnicity informs beauty choices, including color and form. It was informative, had many different perspectives, was respectful, and didn't appear to violate any rules. There was nothing offensive, there was no judgement or rudeness; it was an engaging and thoughtful dialogue about the larger context of beauty and cosmetics.
I have seen this happen to other threads as well, with the same circumstances. Each time it comes up with a notification/error message that the thread has been closed, and when I refresh the thread disappears.
Rachel: I disagree about bringing the Wellness or the other removed categories back. Wellness might influence beauty for some, but it doesn't for all--it can even be triggering for those who battle with recurring issues (eating disorders, etc.). Many threads became downright dangerous when people offered advice that coukd cause serious injury or illness. It became a liability and I imagine was difficukt to moderate. There are many other sites that offer these types of discussion (health/wellness, women's health and beauty, fitness, and the like). Just doesn't really fit here.
