What do you think about ordering makeup and other beauty products on eBay? Any good/ bad experiences?
I've always had good experiences with ordering from eBay, but I've never purchased any makeup. But a friend of mine once ordered a jacket there, and when she went to pick it up, the seller had sent her flower nutrition pearls! You can just imagine her face when she found out, hahaha!

Hahaha. I've never ordered makeup from ebay, I'm not sure how it would go. maybe try amazon? I've ordered a few products from there and it went just great. :)

I told my friend because she is an eBay junkie that it's a bad idea. I remember when naked 3 way just coming out. And people on eBay where selling them like crazy for twice than what they are worth. As for quality, I'm not sure. I'm so picky as to my makeup that I'm never really order online if I can avoid it! But that's with all online stores!

I like Ebay and Amazon. But always read reviews, make sure the products are authentic, and always ask the seller questions. I got some Ben Nye Bannana powder from ebay and it works great! I like ebay and amazon bc if somethings not right and the sellers being a little b*tch thn you can get ahold of Ebay and will usually step in and make things, weather is givn you bck your money or sending a new product. Thy always find a solution. But alway read the reviews and make sure they have sold to a lot of ppl before you. Also compare prices bc some makeup sold is waaay more expencive thn if you were to buy on other site. so compare prices alway : ) good luck.

I've ordered Makeup like Mac, Nars, Amazing Cosmetics, Skinceuticals & It Cosmetics from Ebay with no problem. The only problem I've had is receiving a fake Mac Fan Brush. They accidently sent me the blush brush & when I emailed them about it they said I could keep it for free & proceeded to send me the fake Mac Fan Brush! HaHa!. I should have known, the price was ridiculously cheap. I use those brushes to clean my keyboard, too scratchy for my face. Always read the reviews!

I don't buy too much in the way of actual makeup from either Amazon or eBay. I don't shop on eBay at all but Amazon, I've bought so much random stuff on there lol. I feel like I generally trust Amazon a lot more because I don't hear about as many scams on there. I'm sure it's happened though.
What I've bought from Amazon includes: OPI nail polish. I've bought A LOT of that actually. It seems like no matter what seller I buy from they always have free shipping and they arrive super fast. One even included a pamphlet on how to tell a fake OPI nail polish from a real one, which was very handy. I've also bought maracuja oil from a seller there but I wasn't impressed. It didn't feel the same as Tarte's (which I find strange because Tarte doesn't add anything to theirs so assuming they are both 100% oil they should feel exactly the same, right?) so it led me to question the quality of it. I had paid $20 for one or two very small vials of it and I just decided I'd rather get the large bottle I get from Tarte and know that its coming from a source I trust. So that was a miss for me. The most recent thing I bought was a Nyx Butter Lip Balm (the old formula, I believe they've changed the design/packaging. I've wanted to try the old ones for a while but have never got around to it.) That also arrived quickly, safety seal in tact, brand new with free shipping. Oh and how could I forget, I've bought some Real Techniques brushes there too and never had any issues. No one seems to sell them there anymore though. The last time I looked there's one seller that has some but they have them marked up to about 3x what they actually go for so I've gone through Ulta the last time I ordered any.
I am always cautious though, and I prefer to go through the actual brand's site or Sephora/Ulta, but as long as you read reviews, compare, etc.generally I think most people have good experiences. I just don't think I'll ever buy an eyeshadow palette from either because I've heard so many stories of fakes and whatnot.

This is kind of an off topic note, but I will tell you who has amazing customer service as far as their online orders go. Lush. I ordered some stuff after Christmas. I was really needing a lip scrub and theirs are super affordable (I like DIY but not for lip scrubs lol. can never get the consistency right and I don't use half of the ingredients most call for so it's honestly cheaper for me to just buy the already made ones.) so I got the bubblegum lip scrub and they were having a sale if you bought a lip scrub you could get one of their holiday ones free. So I did that and also picked up the honey trap lip balm (which is fabulous btw) and when it arrived there was no free holiday lip scrub in the box but it said I was supposed to get one on my invoice. So I emailed them and told them what happened and not only did they send one out, they sent a whole little box of stuff. They sent an extra holiday lip scrub, a tinted lip balm and a rose jam shower gel mini. I was so pleased! I was just happy they had even responded and promptly. I was definitely not expecting a little goodie box, they absolutely did not have to send. I will definitely order from them again based on that experience.

All those items brought for sis wedding were from ebay for the first time. I love how it looks.

I agree with all of the above. Check the seller's feedback and when you have that gut feeling that something is wrong or that it is too good to be true, don't do it! usually it is indeed to good to be true.
and if I were you I would be carefull with ordering the naked palettes and other high end palettes because usually they're fake. thats doesn't mean the quality isnt good (you would be suprised how well people can duplicate products) but you should keep in mind that you shouldnt pay as much for a fake as you would for the real thing.
I have purchased make up and brushes on ebay before and I never had any complaints!

I agree with Maxime, if you're going to spend any money on a palette at all, make sure it's the real thing. Why spend any money at all on a fake and sacrifice quality? Usually palettes are a good investment if you like a majority of the colors and will use it often. I always think it's just better to pay full price and get the real deal. Fakes can be decent quality but they can also contain unregulated and potentially harmful ingredients. Usually they don't list ingredients so most of the time you have no way of knowing.
