It's too revealing in my opinion, but according to Beautylish I am a prude so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

You can try wearing high-waist bottoms or a longer over shirt to make it more modest. One of those kimono type blouses that are popular right now would look pretty on top. :)

If you want it less revealing, try high waisted shorts, a skater skirt, high waisted jeans or a kimono

Depends of the situation. Day/School/Work, probably not. Hanging with friends on a normal day? Sure! Definitely do high waisted stuff on days you wear to places to be presentable. (Honestly I have no problems with seeing your stomach. It's just other people.)

I really only think crop tops should be worn with high waisted bottoms. To me it looks very 90s pop star in a bad way.

Nah it's not, everyone wears crop tops. The high neckline balances it out. You could use it with a cardigan or anything high waisted if you're uncomfortable with the amount if skin. It shows.
