Hey girls!
I wanna know your opinions on something! What time do you feel it is appropriate for a young girl to wear a full face if makeup? I was 12 and in 7th grade when I started (I'm the youngest in my grade most often). I started simply because I was thrown into college at that time. I was hand picked by the community college to start college early because if my "extreme academic performance." For more than one reason I feel it stole a big chunk of my childhood one way being how forced I was into makeup. To make myself appear older I wore a full face when I was 12 and I wish I had waited a bit longer... :/ so... What time did YOU start wearing a full face? Do you regret it? What age do you recommend as appropriate for a full face??

When I was 12. I had lots of acne and I just really loved playing around with it. I still wear a full face everyday haha.

I started when I was 13/14 :) but any age you feel comfortable I would say. I mean, it's your body and your choices. Lol and congratulations on the early college thing! :)

I started when I was 16/17. I wish I was at least allowed to wear mascara and concealer at a younger age like 13/14.

I don't really wear a "full face" but I wear a lot of makeup and I think that if someone feels beautiful wearing a full face of makeup and if they're comfortable then it's okay.

Like Janelle said, a full face has a different meaning for everyone. Personally I do think it's best to start more later on because when you're younger usually your skin is so fresh and youthful! I didn't start wearing face makeup until I was 16 going on 17 I believe. Or maybe 17, one of the two. I mean, I'm nobodies mom though lol and I don't really mind when somebody starts wearing a lot of makeup. It's personally preference.

I guess I started wearing a "full face" when I was in 8th grade. By full face I just mean that I wore foundation, concealer, powder, blush, and a complete eye look. I don't think I made my makeup very heavy in application so I guess it was more of a complete application rather than a full coverage one. I think middle school is an appropriate time to start experimenting with makeup. But if I had a daughter in the 7th grade I would make sure that she still looked natural and well-made up. I don't think a girl should be denied her curiosity about cosmetics, but at the same time I think it's weird when I see little middle school girls looking more adult than I do because of how much makeup they wear and how they dress.

I started wearing a full face in about 7/8. Of course my range of products has changed. It was foundation, powder, mascara, eyeliner and some eyeshadow.

WEAR A FULL FACE WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE IT.
I'm sorry about the yelling, but this is one of those "rules" or "things that everyone has an opinion on," and I HATE those. I think that it is up to each person to wear whatever makeup makes him or her comfortable, and no more, no less. If that means a full face in August in Texas, go for it!
Personally, I don't wear face makeup. That's just me. But different products work for different people, and it's all about finding items you love.

That's the age I would have preferred to start but I just felt so pushed into looking and appearing older to fit in with such older people. It's not as bad now though. I'll graduate with an associates next year and high school two weeks later. I honestly don't recommended doing what I did though for any kid. It's steals away those middle school and high school year. Also, thanks! I think my eyes are my best feature it's always nice to get a compliment! :)

It is kind if sad isn't it that everyone had to have an opinion on such trivial matters? I've always just been super curious as to what people actually consider an appropriate age. So many people come from different backgrounds and beliefs it's interesting to see their opinions on it! :) thanks for going and adding in your wonderful caps lock there! I always love reading your advice and replies here on BL!

Now that I'm older I very much agree with you! I think you should be allowed to experiment and do whatever you would like at whatever age. However, a parent should be over seeing so that a very young girl does not go into public without looking good and looking their age. Would totally let a young girl wear and experiment with more adult makeup looks in the home. I unfortunately fell I to that zone of looking more grown up. I've always had a baby face and people joke now that I look 12 (I'm 17) and I can't imagine how young I would have looked in that setting at 12... I just wish I had waited to go out with a full face (even one light in application) a little longer...

Well I'm glad you appreciate it, I know I can come off as abrasive sometimes. But yes, I'm generally against having opinions on trivial things like makeup.

I actually started doing a full face this year, I was 17. But now I'm 18. I started with bh cream and most days I just wear tinted moisturizer. I'm not into coverage yet and I don't care to conceal blemishes either. I don't regret it one bit. I started because of Beautylish. I was so inspired by the makeup artistry here. I just wanted to learn it for myself and try my hand at a new skill. Which I'm absolutely in love with. It's my new passion. I would say 17 is appropriate for a full face.

The exact same thing happened to me I was in an early college high school & I wanted to wear makeup to look like a college girl so I wore I full face when I was 15 I believe & it honestly makes you look a lot older, people though I was 18 & now that I'm 17 people think I'm 20 which I kind of don't like. Lol I think you can wear a full face whenever you feel ready & whenever you want to, it's a personal preference :)
