I posted this, but it isn't showing up:-/ so sorry if it did for you.
Anyway, it seems like I am unable to keep my room clean. I fail miserably at keeping it neat. Now I'm at the point where it is dirty... For real.. And I for some strange reason, don't care(I kno it's bad). I have pet rats whose bedding (shredded newspaper) and food get EVERYWHERE. Are there any DIY, tips, or tricks you have to help me keep my room clean?

Maybe you can start by figuring out what is trash and what isn't. Then organize your items in compartments (ex: all hair items in one, all makeup in another, ect) you can find compartments that usually come in packs at the dollar store. As far as your pets maybe their is a way that you can keep them in only one place in your room, that way they can still have space but just in that one section. Hope that makes sense, good luck (:

Oh, this is too familiar!
This was me basically my entire high school years. After I graduated I realized what a huge mess my room was, and I really didn't care as long as my bed was good to sleep on. Anyway, eventually my mom called me out on it so I had to clean it up. The only way I was able to clean it well was to take absolutely EVERYTHING out of my room. Just floor and walls. After that I began by putting in my furniture, cleaning it out before putting it in, throwing away all the trash and things I didn't need anymore. All the stuff I didn't have space for, I stuck in a little compartment storage I bought at a dollar store. Afterwards, whatever was left outside my room, I tossed into bags and threw away or donated. As for your pets, like Ivette said, I would designate an area just for them. When your room starts to get messy, remember all the hassle you went through to clean it, and don't let it get messy again! Good luck Emma!
