^^^ andddd that right there is why I refuse to watch tv anymore. I don't need that smut in my face. And here is the worst part, we are exposing our young children to it. it's on commercials, it's on magazines. It's everywhere.

Lol Harlyn I mean this is the best of ways possible, but I always laugh at your responses. You're so open and spunky I love it lol!

I honestly don't mind it, I don't care for the names although I do feel awkward going to sephora and asking where they had it. this past weekend my niece was watching me do my makeup and I don't care that she gets them to see what they are or whatever but she picked up my too faced natural eyes palette and started asking me why it was called sexpresso if that was a word that you shouldnt say. I found it kind of funny lol.

Now that this has come up, I'm sort of laughing at things like brand names that no one thinks of. For example, Buxom. "Buxom" is just another word for busty. As in, a well endowed woman. And it's just another brand. I think that when words like this become names, it takes away some of the meaning, so instead of "orgasm" being something that happens in the bedroom, it becomes a peachy blush with gold sparkles. Does that make any sense at all? I'm not wandering through Nars going "oh my god, 'Fire Down Below' is such an inappropriate name for a lipstick!" It's more like, "huh, okay, that's a nice shade of red."

I think the names are kind of funny
And I always thought Nars named their blushes those kinds of names because words like orgasm make people blush
But I think it's a business thing
Like, Nars has very pretty coloured products, but I probably wouldn't have been drawn to them if it wasn't for the names

Very interesting thread. I agree with Jacqueline h. and symone. I like bryanna a.'s point about how it's not just in makeup but in tv, magazines, commercials ect... We live in a world were this is what people want and gets them to buy something. As a customer we can choose not to buy it if it offends us.

There's nothing wrong with it. Its just a name. You just need to be mature about it. Just get over it.

I do think the names are a little scandalous, but tbh, that's what makes me want them even more! It feels like a little naughty secret I can laugh about while I apply my makeup, that then goes safely back into the drawer.
If the names weren't that provactive, we wouldn't remember them at all.
However, when a girl at school asked me which blush I had used and I replied "Deep Throat", the repulsed looks from nearby people and the detention I recieved for "indecent behaviour" make me think that a name like "pretty pink" could work just as well, lol

It makes me feel uncomfortable, especially when I want to ask my mum about Nars blush in 'orgasm'. Its not needed and with young people getting into make up its a bit innapropriate.

Usually I'm really open about stuff like that, but I think for brands especially makeup which has nothing to do with that stuff is pretty awkward :/
