I would say middle school at the earliest. 12 I think. I didn't wear any makeup until 8th grade and that was only lip balm and sometimes mascara. I personally think before high school all that's appropriate is some concealer, lip balm/gloss, mascara, and maybe natural eyeshadow. My opinion is there's no need/kinda inappropriate to be wearing foundation or eyeliner before high school. Again, just my opinion. My parents didn't let me wear anything too heavy before then anyways

I started at 18 only because I have problem skin. The later the better in my opinion, especially if you have good skin I really don't see the need for it - especially foundation 🙈 but each to their own :)

I didn't start wearing makeup until I was 16, and at the time I just wore eyeliner and mascara. I didn't start wearing eyeshadow until after high school, and I haven't gotten much into face makeup such as foundation, powder and primer until about a year ago, and I'm 23. I didn't do anything with my brows until 6 months ago!

I actually didn't start wearing makeup until 21 but only because I was uninterested. When it comes to my daughter I think it should onset and increase gradually. Saturday afternoon makeovers for fun when she starts showing interest, something light like just mascara and lipstick. I think 13 is an okay age to start with little lip balm. I think at fifteen things can be advanced more with liners and shadows.. But as far as coverage makeup I don't think its necessary unless they have skin issues. I think girls at these young ages are fragile and are developing an opinion about themselves. They should be taught that while makeup can be a fun and artistic outlet, that they are already brimming with beauty and taught to appreciate the youthful features they have. Kids grow up so fast these days... Why push it? Just my humble opinion... :)

I started at 12, first day of middle school. The first week it was just some eye makeup, but then I started doing some foundation to cover redness. I think it depends on how you feel, wear however much you want as long as your parents are okay with it. My mom wouldn't let me leave the house with tons of makeup, but foundation and eye makeup was fine.

At my middle school there were girls who wore full faces everyday and girls who wore no makeup at all. It's really just personal preference.

It depends on how comfortable you are with makeup and what age your parents think its acceptable. I started like 11 with some powder, mascara, and glass. At like 13, my interest of makeup blossomed so I started doing more of a full face. At 15, I can say I do a full face.

I started to wear eyeliner at the age of 13 and brow products was at 16 face products at 20. I remember as a teen a lot of girls had a full face but I swear they all used cover girl which I truly disliked and don't like. I swear I could smell cover girl foundation & powder lol it always smelled like Noxzema. I was more fascinated with applying makeup on others and practice applying on myself but would wash my face right away after. At this age now I don't wear makeup on a daily its only for occasions at this point for me but I guess it comes from always applying on others that interest me more.

I started at 10... Heavy eyeliner and mascara, that was it. Sometimes eyeshadow. If I could go back and change it, maybe I'd wait.. But still, it made me who I am today, so..

Dependent on maturity and skin condition I would have to say 14. I remember some time ago going to MAC and seeing these two girls who were 12 years old wearing a full-coverage foundation over massive cystic acne. After they left I spoke with the artist who assisted them who gave me their ages and the parents have zero issue with it as they give them money to buy it since the girls are regular customers. They think by covering it up with a thick foundation will mask their skin issues but if anything it just highlighted and made it look worse.

I wore concealer at 9 for my acne and powder with it at 10. I wore mascara at 11-12. I'm 13 now and my acne has started to clear up so I mostly wear mascara and lipgloss.

I started when I was 12 as well but just eyeliner n lipgloss at that age - I didn't start wearing foundation until I turned 18.

13. I think it should be kept minimal. but it's all between the child & parents to decide what's right for them. I personally didn't wear any makeup until freshman year, I kept it minimal. concealer for my dark circles, mascara, & eyeliner is what I wore.

I think people who are fifteen and under that don't have acne or something to cover up shouldn't wear face makeup. It's not good for your face and if you don't need it...why wear it?

As long as you are comfortable with wearing makeup and your parents let you...any age.

I was about 13, I started off with eyeshadow and mascara.
Then started wearing foundation when I was 15. I'm 18 now and I don't wear makeup that often. I'll only throw on mascara and eyeliner to go to work. I stopped wearing foundation because as I got older, I noticed that my skin was getting more sensitive and practically every foundation or BB cream I worse broke me out and gave me rashes on my face. With out it, I have no pimples or nothing, except when I get my period, which I think we can all relate too 😂🙈

Depends on when you're comfortable and when your guardians allow it.

I wore mascara and eyeliner at 13. I didn't start wearing anything else (foundation, concealer, etc) until I was 17

On a daily basis? Probably about 14 with a bit of mascara, then by 15 it was loads of black catliner (Tried doing this on myself recently and it looked ridiculous) I didn't start wearing foundation until I was about 17 though.

To me I think 14 is about the right age for a daily routine (I know some people will disagree with me but yeah...) of naturalish stuff and then maybe experimenting with something a bit bolder (not including special occasions) about 16/17.

I think it's about recognising what you actually need though despite your age. If you've got good skin do you really need a full coverage foundation for example? I think that's how I see it anyway.
