I love my GHD. I bought it when I was 18 and it still use it now 8 years later. Bought it when I lived in the UK and it's followed me ever since. Miss GHDs.

I don't know any of those brands but I love my trusty GHD... Been by my side for years and I can't complain about it yet.

I personally love my chi - best quality straightner I've ever owned and comes with a lifetime warranty - so far I've had it for about 3 years now but before I used to buy cheap ones n had to replace them every year - but not with my chi :)

Anyone ever heard of or tried the sultra seducteess? I'm torn between kqc ghd and the sultra seductress but looking if there is something better.

I think it's less the straightener more the prep. I have a blowdryer, not namebrand, that works like the way stylists dry your hair, it has a brush that spins when I push a button and my hair looks straightened before I even start! I think you should look into dryers. it's also less direct heat.

I use the KQC and it works great on my thick coarse hair! Plus it leaves it super shiny and silky. It heats pretty fast and I can do curls as well. I got it from flatironexperts.com

I completely agree with what Hannah said about Chi. I just happened to be very impatient when it comes to waiting so I like to have something that takes less than a few minutes to heat up. I've saw many people do amazing curls with it but I don't like using straighteners for curls because I've never really gotten the hang of it so it normally takes me awhile and it just doesn't look right. Lol I stick with curling wands.

Cortex 1" titanium iron!! Best damn thing ever! Mine lasted 6 years, I recently just bought a new one. It's about $280, but, it's worth the price!!

No problem Hannah :).

Chi is a fine straightener, just not the best IMO.

Don't know about in the world lmao, but I personally love my chi. Very surprised to hear all the bad reviews, I've had mine for years and have never had any of the problems mentioned.

Genevieve, mine is fine for doing loose curls, it heats up in 2 minutes flat, and it's generally a nice iron. However, my hair does look dull after using it, and it does get caught in the plates. It's a nice iron, for sure, but it's not the best.

I agree with Genevieve D. I have no problems with my chi, it heats up fast and straightens perfectly.

Also the Megastar does heat up to insane temperatures but I never use it that hot. It have a temperature control and you don't need to turn the temp up all the way on any nume product. I know that quite a few of the wands don't have temp control but most all of the straighteners do. I always make that any hair tool has a temperature control before I buy it.

Wow that is so weird! I read all the comments on the CHI and this is so far from what I experience! I guess their must be different models cause mine heat up super fast, the finish is amazing and my hairs never get stuck in it!! it's also prefect for doing my loose curls!
or maybe I just got a super one :P yay for me then!!

Honestly I really didn't like Chi at all it caught my hair like crazy it took awhile to heat up and I found that it didn't heat evenly and my hair was straight but looked dull after I used it. Right niw my favorite one is Numes Megastar flat iron. It leaves my hair super straight and soft and silky smooth. Also it takes no time to heat up and it heats evenly and it doesn't catch my hair.

That's awesome to hear, thanks Maggie :)

When you used to use hot tools I swore by Nume! I had one of their straighteners and they gave me the exact look that I wanted... Straight as I needed that lasted all day! However, they get very hot and are very powerful and they do insane damage to your hair even with a heat protectant.

I've tried the Chi Ultra. Like you said, my hair would get caught in the plates leaving weird heat indentions. It never got to the ideal temperature. Plus the size of it was just awkward to hold. The Sedu is weighted better to properly hold, it has better heat settings, and just glides through my hair. It's the first straightening iron I can actually curl and straighten my hair with. The plates of the Sedu are higher quality and just leave my hair feeling sleeker, shinier, not to mention I get it straightened 1000 timees faster!

I do have a temperature control on my CHI! never tried Croc... well if my CHI dies, I'll give it a try! thanks for the hint!

It's utterly fantastic, and it doesn't catch my hair like the Chi does.

For those of you who love Chi, I've been a Chi girl since I was 12, and the Croc beats it hands down. Not even a contest. The Croc has a temperature control, and titanium plates (I believe they're titanium) that smooth and straighten my hair 20X better than my Chi ever did. It's.
