I naturally have very thick and strong hair and use heat on it as little as possible. But today during my shower an extreme amount of hair fell out. Usually it's just four or five strands that fall out but it was a lot more today. I did put on a bit of coconut oil last night before I went to sleep and I know that if you put on too much it may weaken your hair follicle and maybe even cause hair to break but I put on a small amount. And I've done this before so it's probably not it. And I'm always very careful before, during and after my shower of my hair falling so why did this suddenly happen? What can I do to prevent it from happening again? Please help, I want to keep as much hair on my head as possible 😬

Uh not really stressed but as for genetics it could be but my mom only started having hair fall after her second time being pregnant, with me. And I'm 14 so...

Huge amounts of my hair comes out all the time and I'm young too, so I wouldn't worry about it. If you really want to do something about it, try using less products maybe? Hair will fall out no matter what you do, it's natural. It could even be the weather. Just don't worry about it

How often have you detangled your hair since you last washed it. That can make a difference. Every time you brush it the hair that has naturally been shed collects in the brush. If you haven't brushed it as much as you usually do the shed hair won't have been removed and will have built up until it was all released in the shower. It is completely normal to shed a couple of hundred hairs a day. I once spoke to to my doctor about it and she said it was completely normal to loose what seems like a large amount of hair when washing it every so often. I wouldn't worry unless you start to consistently start to loose more hair than normal then I would suggest you go see you doctor.
