Hi. So I want to get highlights in the near distant future. (I will post a pic of what I want) my questions are
Are highlights really damaging?
how long do they grow out/fade?
and when they do fade, can I dye my natural hair color over it...
*this is my 1st time dying my hair so as you can tell I don't know much about this stuff, so I will be going to a salon because I probably won't do it right. Haha! 😊😊😃

That's really pretty! hair dying isn't that damaging if you take care of your hair. growing out depends on how fast your hair grows. & of course they will be able to dye back your natural color over it :)

Okay thanks Kat! I was just wondering about dying your natural hair color over because I've heard dying your hair ruins your natural color forever 🙊😱 haha.

No, not really as damaging. honestly nothing is if you take care of your hair!
You can dye over it yes haha. I've had the whole bottom part of my hair dyed bleach blonde and I dyed right over it when I was tired of it and had no problems. I always dye over my red hair, highlights, etc. bleaching does strip the natural color but honestly it's easy to get back to your natural hair color if it's dark lol! :)
That's really pretty, it'll look good.

I think it depends on the skill of the hairdresser and your hair's condition. For example, on thinner or more porous hair, highlights can do some damage. It also depends on your lift level. I personally think some highlights would be fine if you take great care of your hair and it is currently in great shape. I cut back my highlights in winter to give my hair a break.
