Curling it with a wand & running your fingers through it several times until you like the result then adding hairspray.

Hairspray a one inch piece of hair and wrap it around a curling wand for about 30 seconds. Remove your hair from the wand but keep the curl together in your hand, use a clip to keep the curl together, and then pin it to your head. Once your done curling all of your hair wait 15-30 minutes for the curls to cool and set and then you can remove the clips. Run your fingers through your hair a bit and then give your hair a final hairspray. :) This is the method and it works great for my extremely thick and and long hair. Remember to use a heat protectant! Good luck! :)

Yes, I agree with Ariana. Check out Nicole Guerriero's YouTube channel. She recently did a tutorial on how to curl your hair to make it last longer. She used the same technique Ariana mentioned.

I do not recommend hairspray before using a hot tool, not only will that damage your hair but it can damage your tool!
