So far the powder is the one if have found that works the best, I also have a bed head cream but you have to blow dry it to make it work and I don't always have time for that

Not sure if you can do this with extensions, but since my hair is super thick and curly and long, it tends to get really flat at the top while drying. I use duck clips along my roots while it dries (air or blow dryer) and they give so much lift versus letting it dry alone. I bet it'd be even more pronounced also using a volumizing powder!

I put them in as soon as I finish towel drying and applying hair products and keep them in until my hair is totally dry (or usually until I need to see other people and don't want to look like a crazy person). You put them as close to the root as possible and sideways compared to how you'd usually use a barette or bobby pin - slide them in with the thin side of both pieces touching the scalp, rather than with the long side touching. So it physically lifts up the hair at the root. And don't take too much hair, so it can stay close to the root. I use two along the front of my face where bangs would be and the rest parallel to my part to give lift across the top of my head.

Oh, and I flip my head upside down while I put them in!
