Hey y'all! I want to try blonde but I feel as though blonde and dark skin doesn't mix if not done properly. How do y'all feel about the saying that certain colors work for certain skin tones. Opinions?

I usually don't think it looks good when hair is lighter than skin color. And then some tones look better with different shades of blonde. I'd ask a hair stylist they'd probably know what shade looks best. I have natural dark hair and don't feel like full on blonde would look right on me, but I got blonde balayage highlights and love it.

Ya you're right a stylist probably would know best. I know I would look crazy with full on blonde but I do like highlights and ombre.

I love that ombre, I think youd look so cute with that. for me personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with a lighter hair color than your skin but I would take it by a case by case basis. and I think youre so beautiful and you could definitely pull it off.

Thanks Madyln (that's a pretty name btw)! I agree some people look good with hair that is lighter than their skin tone.

I don't agree with that
I think light hair on dark skin is p great
It all depends on the tone of the hair
What I don't like is hair color being similar to skin color cause that's a lot trickier to pull off

It's all about what shade looks best with your skin tone. I think anyone can pull off any color, they just need the right shade of that color. if you don't know the best shade for you, I'd ask your stylist :)

The only time that hair looks odd is if it is the same color as someone's skin (whether they are dark or light complexion). Tyra Banks used to have her hair a shade that was almost an exact match to her skin tone, and it just looked really unflattering. Maybe that's just me though. I know if I bleached my hair any lighter than it is now, I'd look like a ghost because I'm so ghastly pale.

I like that photo like I think it looks good when certain blondes are used - like when Beyoncé went blonde it was cute but when nicki minaj did it I'm sorry but I hated it but the photo you showed I think would look great on your girl so go for it!
