So my skin is super oily by the end of the day. But it also looks dry sometimes in winter. My makeup tends to get very blotchy and disgusting as well and it does not go on smooth. I am looking at purchasing these products? Opinions on them?

NOT THE TARTE, it's very cakey and would make dry patches worse.

I agree that the tarte is drying. If you are truly oily, it should work for you. It is also great for acne prone skin. I think your best bet would be the Estée Lauder

This sounds like a skincare issue. You can change foundations all you want, but if you don't take care of the base issue, your products won't work as they should.
Your skin is probably dehydrated. Do you use a moisturizer? If you're ending up oily at the end of the day but also have dry spots, your skin may be dry and overproducing oil to compensate.

Even when I use a moisturizer I still end up with some dry patches. It is not as bad as when I don't but the oil also makes it worse because than the foundations looks like I've missed putting it on in spots.

I love Clinique Even Better or their Super Moisture Foundations for my dry skin. Laura Merciers Silk Cream is also supposed to be great too. As for skin care I recommend CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturizing Cream. I also recommend definitely using a primer as well, and L'Oreal Magic Lumi is my favorite (even over high end and other drugstore primers). As for the products you mentioned, I don't think any of those products would be good for your problem.

I would try getting several different samples of foundation to try out first before buying an expensive foundation. I also forgot to add Makeup Forever HD as a great foundation.

And if you are worried about being too oily then Estee Lauder should work as long as you are priming and moisturizing. I believe Clinique has one as well call Superbalanced that is good for oil and dryness

The teint idole from lancome is very good for oily skin as it s completely transfer free. Medium covarage, buildable, stays all day, no shine!

Second the lancome teint idole. a lot more natural finish than the EL which goes on very thick. new hg foundation for my oily skin. also a big fan of the smash box primer for oily skin.

I second Janine, I absolutely love the lancome foundation she mentioned but it's actually a full coverage not medium, I love the Estée Lauder foundation& I also love the tarte foundation, It doesn't look cakey on me at all

The Tarte Amazonian clay was a little thick to me. I have truly normal skin- it wasn't greasy on me nor dry. But it had a very heavy feel IMO. I applied it with a stippling brush and that made it a little less heavy but I wouldn't repurchase it.

I just bought the lorac professional foundation. It helps with my dry skin. I actually have combination skin but the other foundation just enhance some of my dry spots but Lora doesn't. You should try it babe.

I tried Smashbox foundation and hated it. It didn't cover anything.
