I have Revlon Nude and Rose lip liners for when I want colored liner, but I find myself much more often reaching for my Maybelline clear lip liner. I'd recommend that for your first, since it's obviously universal.

I love the mac lip liners they are pricier but I think they are a great staple piece in anyone's makeup bag they are very pigmented and are not to dry but not too creamy 😌👏
