Hi all,
I'm looking to buy a table top makeup mirror for my teenage niece for Christmas. I want a round or oval with good magnification on one side. I've searched all over online, but all the complaints seem to be about magnification distortion. I want to purchase online and have it shipped.

Can you recommend a good brand to look at? I've read about Conair, Floxite, Deco, etc. and even their positive reviews get skewered by the negative ones, which all complain about distortion or dim lights. I decided lighting isn't necessary. She lives in a small house, so I can't buy one of the 3-mirror styles.

Thanks for your help.

Mines from Revlon. its 20 at walmart had a ring light and 5x magnification on one side. I haven't noticed any distortion with it. my only complaint is I can't change the light bulb to another one, but for twenty bucks I can't complain.

So far, the best reviewed one in the price range (~$30) is made by Zadro. No light, but 8x/1x and no complaints of distortion. Found it online at the big A and Sallys. Still seeking advice though.
Thanks,

I got one for Kohl's when I left for college for $15 called the "Simple by Design Mirror Stand" (thank goodness for those barcode reader apps). It's double sided, one regular and one magnified. It does kind of distort from afar in the magnified side, but if I'm leaning forward to do some detail work, I don't have any issues. They had it up on the shelf when I bought it, so you could always go see for yourself if it was going to be an issue.

I have the simplehuman sensor mirror, it's amazing. The lights on it mimic sunlight and there's no distortion. I'm not sure if that's the type you're looking for but they may have the type you want, I'd definitely recommend them.
