I don't think that's a good idea. Did he say why he thought you should do that? No piercer I've ever gone to has mentioned anything remotely close to doing that so I'm curious haha. Personally when I got my tragus pierced I just cleaned it with salt saline solution twice daily for a few months and when you're cleaning it try not to move it around too much. :)

He told me it would heal faster If I did.

I don't think that's accurate, personally I wouldn't do it :)

Vaseline can only aid in leading to an infection. I wouldn't do it. Shaye knows what's up. :)
It looks great!

I would cleanse your piercing with normal saline solution. That's what nurses use to clean wounds at the hospital.

Agree with Shaye. However, I used Bactine spray to clean mine.

If your piercer told you Vaseline will heal a wound (yes, a piercing is a wound) then you need to find a new piercer. Any so-called professional that gives such blatantly false information ("advice" in fact that could cause infection!) should be a huge red flag! I'd question their methods and sanitation as well.
Besides, you shouldn't be removing the jewelry anyway. That just irritates the wound and makes healing take longer, upping risk of infection or scarring/scar tissue forming.
Saline is the standard for cleaning piercings. Bactine is very drying, which can cause irritation.

Bactine worked perfectly one for all of my piercing. But, to each their own!
