So I purchased some high waisted jeans online but they run big so I don't really want to ship them back because they're a hassle and what if they get lost and all this stuff that could happen over the way.does anyone know how to shrink jeans?

Most stores permit in-store returns. Most packages have insurance for $100 as a default and with tracking, returns are pretty easy and safe. The pant material will effect your ability (or lack thereof) to shrink them. All cotton will shrink in hot water/high dryer, but not by much. Many jeans are now a mix of material...so if there is Lycra for stretch/comfort, even if tighter when you initially "shrink" them, they will stretch and become baggy quickly. I'd just return them.
