Tyler and massiell though it may have appeared to work for your eyes it actually is doing you harm because as alexis said its a sealant which means it can also seal bacteria around your eyes and give you an infection and yes ciera they do grow on their own but latisse helps to promote eyelash growth but you have to ask a doctor before use hope I could help :D

What Alexis said. & Vaseline only gives the illusion of added length, that's why people think it grows them long. eyelashes go through a natural cycle, petroleum jelly isn't going to change that. but since they fall off easily from rubbing it sounds like you're rubbing too hard &/or your lashes are brittle. I recommend using coconut oil to remove your eye makeup. it's very gentle & takes off mascara sooo easily. as an added bonus it conditions lashes so they won't be so brittle :)

Mix castor oil and coconut oil and add avocado oil but that's optional

If you use castor, coconut and avocado oil I also add aloe juice. And I shake it up, take a cotton swab and run it along my lash line before bed. Don't apply too much just enough to lightly coat the lashes, go to sleep, wake up and wash it off that's how I grew mine

Castor oil is way too thick to use around the eyes, and it can cause puffiness and irritation on the thin skin there.

Coconut oil is mildly comedogenic and can cause blocked tear ducts or lash follicles in the same manner as vaseline. Plus many people have adverse reactions to it when applied topically.

Avocado oil is also extremely dense, and can be comedogenic.

Using any kind of oil around the eye is sealing bacteria and moisture against delicate skin as well as against the lashes. This can lead to conjunctivitis, sties, blocked ducts, blocked follicles, and other reactions (including swelling, sensitivity, and acne/milia). If you do use an oil to remove your makeup instead of a proper makeup remover, make sure you wash it off thoroughly from around the eyes.

Additionally, like Alexis C. said, nothing and I mean NOTHING nonprescription will grow your lashes. Period. End of story. This is scientific fact. I can provide multiple empirical studies to back this up. The only potential benefit of using oil on your lashes would be a slight conditioning effect due to the oil sealing moisture against the hair; however this also comes with the risk of infection.

Your best bet is to stop using mascara and eyelash curler for a while and quit rubbing your eyes. They will grow back in on their own; a cycle for an individual eyelash is ~1-2 weeks, so it shouldn't take too long for them to go back to normal.
