So I have a really dry scalp but need to wash my hair every other day because it gets greasy so quickly! I use tresseme remoisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Compared to a lot of people I know I have the need to wash my hair more often; could this be a factor of the causes of my dry scalp? I have no idea what to do..

You should try a different shampoo because I used to be like that and just accepted it after trying pretty much everything put there-I'm not sure what I was allergic to but now I use a natural shampoo and my hair still gets a bit oily but not like it was. And the itchy & dryness has improved greatly! It's been a year of using these product but its well worth it and it took a few months to actuall y get used to it too, so be sure to go at it for a few months before deciding it didn't work. Your scalp needs a good cleanse with something like tea tree shampoo about once a week to get any flakes and help sooth the dryness. But it also needs moisture! I do a soak In some kind of oil from time to time, less as my scalp is better than before but it's still sooo helpful in any dryness-argan or coconut or olive oil are all great for this :) good luck hun!

Thanks for the tip - I'm going to be hunting for a good tea tree shampoo now haha. I also soak my scalp with certain oils from time to time. Also if you don't me asking what shampoo do you use now? Much appreciated :)

I use Aveda brand shampoo, but I've found some of the ingredients I'm also allergic to from them :/ luckily they take back shampoo even if you've used half a bottle!they also have rosemary mint that is similar to tea tree and smells less overwhelming. Right now I use the color treated one every other day and rosemary once a week-ish, good luck!
