I've just now seen your comments. So sorry I did not mean to ignore you at all. I have no clue how I missed this. I really just wanna get into makeup and hair a little because I've just always been interested in it. I wouldn't wanna make it a career just to learn for my self a little I guess. Trying to find that one thing for me you know :)
Thanks again so much for you comments

I don't want to write you another novel lol so I'm gonna list a few that you can check out the locations on. Paul Mitchell Academy. Capri Institure. Bond Academy. Artistic Academy. Christine Valmy School.

The only specialized makeup schools i know are Makeup Designory (NY) & Robert Fiance Makeup Academy (NJ). Let me know if you have more questions girl!

Cosmetology is useful for the simple fact that although its majorly hair that you learn, it is obviously a HUGE advantage when a makeup artist knows hair as well as makeup. Esthetics is best is you really want to learn a lot about the skin and how to care for it and stuff. Which again is a very big advantage because you would learn how to treat different types of skin. In our area we have The Empire Academy/The Hair Design School which is in Jersey City right when you get off the train at Journal Square its about a block away. Super short commute. They have a cosmetology program only I believe.

Hey girl. I saw your post about the schools in NJ.So really .. there's no makeup school near us :( In our area we just happen to have a lot of cosmetology/esthetics schools. Is your ultimate goal to have your own makeup business or do you want to work in a salon doing makeup? In NJ there is no law requiring us to have a license in order to do makeup on our own but if you'd like to work in a salon or spa, you have to have either a cosmetology or esthetics license.
