I was wondering does anyone know if witch hazel, olive oil or lemon juice helps acne? Or other things I could find at home that really help? Thank you.

If you do purchase a toner, get one without alcohol in it.

I've had acne for the best part of 6 years. I used everything to try cover up my spots and make them go away, the best option is to go to the doctor and get some antibiotics. They'll stop them for as long as you take them and really work! Good luck:-)

Chemicals are not all bad, natural ingredients can react with skin just as much, sometimes even more than chemicals do, with anyone's skin type. It's really a mixed bag when it comes to skincare, one thing will work for someone and the same thing will react badly with another's. It's definitely not universal unfortunately. My advice is to get a gentle, non-acne treating cleanser. CeraVe and Cetaphil are good brands that are usually very gentle and effective at cleansing. You could get an oil control one if you wanted but personally I would keep it plain for now. If you want a toner, get one that doesn't have alcohol in it. Alcohol is very drying and while it will kill bacteria that causes acne it will dry and irritate your skin. Then get a light moisturizer. I really love CeraVe's PM moisturizer. They also have an AM one that has SPF in it. Then get a spot treatment. Clean N Clear's Persa Gel 10 has worked well for me in the past. You can get whichever you like but that's what I recommend, or just any that are made with salicylic acid. Benzoyl peroxide can help too but usually I find it to be a little too drying on the surrounding skin and for me at least it took repeated applications to see any difference where as I feel I got a better result faster with a salicylic acid treatment. For the routine, wash your face morning and night with the cleanser, use some toner on a cotton pad after to remove any residue, then use the spot treatment and then moisturizer. Another thing I'd recommend is a serum by a company called Andalou. They use more natural ingredients to fight acne and I had good results with their Pore Clarifying Serum. You use any serums before moisturizer, thinnest product to thickest product.
If you've already tried a routine similar to that and it hasn't worked or your acne is severe I strongly suggest you see a dermatologist if that is within your means. I struggled with my acne for close to TEN years before finally admitting that I needed professional help. I thought I would grow out of it (I may still, its genetic and my father no longer has it, but he suffered with it as an adult as well so I may very well have it for longer still.) and that if I found the right/best products I could cure it myself. And some products did help tremendously but not enough. Finally I was having breakouts so severe I was getting very depressed over it and didn't want to leave the house without covering it. I didn't care if it looked cakey as long as I didn't have to look at the mess my face was. It was the worst I'd ever had and when I went home for Christmas I finally had my mom make me an appointment. I got 3 prescriptions and a few months later my acne is mostly under control. I really only get a couple super bad spots before and after my period now. And while that still sucks, its so much more manageable to only have to get rid of one or two bad spots or to just conceal those spots. My skin is much, much happier. So if it's that bad, please don't hesitate to go if that is at all an option available to you!

I just didn't want to use chemicals or pills because I'm pregnant and I don't think a dermatologist recommends anything natural do they? Thanks guys!
