bleaching at home is tricky, and it can be really frustrating. all of the products I use are from Sally's beauty supply.
you need to remember that when bleaching your hair you need to be patient. you will not get it the wanted color the first time you do it, unless maybe you haven't ever dyed your hair.
I use #30 developer, the brand Ion. the quick blue bleach, and I use and brush and bowl. weaving the color in will help a lot because it will help make it more natural. whenever bleaching your hair, toner becomes your best friend. I've found a couple brands that I liked, one is Age Beautiful , the other is Whalla. when I use toner, I use #40 developer, same brand, if not the brand that has argan oil. every time I bleach my hair, I tone it. it helps take out the brassy look, and it makes it look more natural.
the other thing that will help your hair get lighter without completely damaging it, is the Shimmer Lights brand of purple shampoo. If you get it, be careful, its really easy to overuse.
everyone's hair is different, my hair doesn't get damaged like a lot of peoples do. the shampoo and conditioner I use on a regular basis is Matrix Total Results. The orange bottle that is Sleek. it helps your hair dramatically.

You look so cute with your new haircolor.. thanks for sharing this, I've been thinking about getting dark purple hair but I am scared of damaging my hair a lot because I HAVE to bleach it first because I have bright red hair but your info gave me more motivation thank you beautiful love those big gray eyes 😁

I've been researching this process for quite a while, thanks for sharing your experience. Just one question: why do you use such a high volume developer for toner? If you've already lifted your hair with a 30, using a 40 to tone seems really risky.

The color is beautiful on you, but does not strike me as platinum. I sometimes go platinum and it is very bright...nearly white. (Jane Mansfield and Marilyn for example) This color is warner with ash tones...and I have to say, it's stunning. Fantastic!
