Try an insect cooling spray or an antihistamine cream.

This may sound worried but when I lived in fl I got bit up and I put toothpaste on mine cleared it up over night.

Any hydrocortisone cream or calamine lotion should do the trick. Also placing a cool compress (a wet towel work) on it for a while will help.
