Why do people say it is unhealthy to brush your hair after getting out of the shower? How else could I part my hair how I want it?

You could use a wet brush :) or a wide toothed comb.

Thanks, I'll be on the hunt for a wide toothed comb!

Your hair is very weak when it's wet, so it's very easy to break off your hair.
Definitely invest in a wet brush. It's about $10.00 and worth it. I have to wash my hair everyday to style it and honestly it works great. The bristles are made to be very flexible and long, so instead of staying put and going against the hair like a traditional comb or brush, it flows with it.

When your hair is wet it's at it's weakest and could break, use a comb.

I use a wide tooth comb. My hair is curly and the easiest way for me to comb it is when I'm in the shower. I comb it with a wide tooth comb.

Exactly ^hair stretches up to 50% more when wet so breakage is definitely more likely.

Is "Wet Brush" the brand name? When I look up wet brush on amazon they just look like normal brushes.

When your hair is wet thats when its at weakest point. I don't like using brushes I instead use a comb. Never ever start brushing your hair from top to the bottom it wil damage your hair so much. I start from the bottom very lightly and work my way up:) but sometimes I just let it air dry and comb it after its dry:)

Yes it is called "the wet brush" on the packaging. You can buy them at Target and Sally beauty for around 9 or 10 bucks.
