My hair is easily damaged. I've heard the too much protein can actually damage the hair and I do eat a lot of portein like eggs and such as that might be the case. I trim my dead ends and before it can again it breaks again and it seems like a never ending cycle. Is there anything I can do make to my hair stronger?

I think the too much protein thing is when you use hair care products such as conditioners & masks that contain protein.

Do you use a lot of heat on your hair? Or do you wear your hair up a lot in tight buns, tight braids, or pony tails because that can sometimes be damaging. I recommend a good sulfate free shampoo like L'Oreal's I know they have a few for nourishing or repairing. Nexxus Pro Mend is also great to help prevent damage. As far as styling goes, I love love loveeee Its A 10 Plus Keratin! I use it for blow drying and straightening my hair. I have noticed a huge cut down in damage to my hair since using it. Its expensive but now I refuse to use anything else because I ran out and used my old stuff and my hair looked and smelled horrible! Its a deep conditioner spray so you don't have to use heat to use it, I still use it just when I don't fix my hair. Hair mask are great too again L'Oreals are good and Its a 10 but I also love Organix too. Sleeping on wet hair can also be damaging and try switching to a silk pillowcase. I don't think eating lots of eggs does anything to your hair unless you are applying egg yolks directly on your hair, because hair is considered "dead". Be careful with brushing your hair (I love my tangle teaser) and never brush your hair when wet! Drink lots of water and DO NOT take anything like Biotin unless your doctor thinks you need it. I would try maybe a multivitamin like Women's Daily (just an example) if you don't already, but that is not going to completely cure your issue.

Where are you seeing the breakage? Are you experiencing hair loss beyond the norm?

@Jacqlyn: I use hair masks every so often but I only use home made ones. And don't worry I don't take vitamins.
@Lisa: I never use heat and I always wear my hair down unless I'm sleeping, then I put it in a loose braid or a loose bun. I'm don't use shampoo anymore bcause I stopped trusting all those chemicals. I'm kind of a hippie. As for the sleeping on wet hair that could be the problem but do I do sleep on a silk like pillow case. When my hair is wet I either use my fingers to comb throught it or a wide tooth comb.
@Rozberry: My breakage is mostly on the ends of my hair. I'm not experencing any hair loss in fact I've had a lot of new grwoth since I stopped using chemicles in my hair.
@Kay: I love counut oil
