If you let your makeup cook does it make it stay on longer? and how long are you supposed to leave it on for? oh, and does is it only apply to concealer?

What do you mean by cooking?

I've never heard of this before but now I'm curious do you apply it and let it sit or apply blend and let it sit before setting??

Oh wow I accually thought you cooked it for a second.

I thought we were putting it in the microwave! lol a lady at sephora recommended that I let my foundation sit on my face for 15-20 minutes before I apply my powder and stuff but I had no Idea it was called cooking.

How do you find the time to let your foundation sit there for 20mins? I'm always in a rush getting ready!

Kath E- while I let my foundation sit, I do other things that needs to be done so I'm not just sitting there waiting. Putting on clothes, do my hair...stuff like that.

Does it have to sit on your face for 10-20mins or can you have it on the back of your hand like Jacqlyn said?
I want to do this but the UD Naked Skin foundation is too liquidy to let it sit on my face without having to lie down :s

I think you misunderstand Kyra, You apply your foundation normally and then you leave it (do your eyes, or dress) and then you can blend some more and set it. You wouldn't be leaving globs of it on your face :)

I do this sometimes, I never knew the exact science to it. I do it with under eye concealer on particularly bad days where they look bruised from lack of sleep. But it's usually not for 20 minutes, only for as long as it takes for me to do my eye makeup. (:

Great explanation, Jacqueline!
I usually apply foundation and nothing else. I always wondered why it would look smoother and have more coverage after awhile. Thanks!

I love cooking :) I usually do it if I have a long day or really need my make up to stay put. I can't really say it any better than Jacqueline can but I learned this (and many other precious techniques) from watching drag queens! Pertilude (on YouTube) has really easy to follow instructions if any of you guys are more interested in this/prefer visual guidelines :D

I still don't really get this lol. say you wanna cook the concealer - I always apply mine by doing dots under the eye. do I have to blend them first? or do I leave them like that for 10 minutes? but if I leave the concealer like that without blending, won't it be too dry after those few minutes of 'cooking'?
I hope somebody understands my problem lol
