My chin and around my nose becomes very, very oily only about an hour after applying makeup. I can soak through 2 oil blotting sheets at least 3 times a day. I'm working on combating the oil with a better skincare routine, but what's a good mattifying primer that will help? I've tried the KORRES, Cover FX, Becca, and Eve Pearl mattifying ones but none of them help. I also use a setting powder but that doesn't help either.

I've heard the nars one that looks like a stick works amazing. haven't tried it myself though!

Milk of magnesia. It's a laxative but it's literally my holy grail primer. I can't go a single day without it. It tames my oily skin amazingly. Everything is totally matte at the end of the day, (except my nose). I swear by it

I've heard that milk of magnesia really clogs the pores, though. It doesn't do that for you?

@Emily Milk of Magnesia is very alkaline, so you mess up your skin by using it. Alkaline products usually damage skin after just one use.. It disrupts the acid mantle of the skin, so it can cause increased acne. ( Along with a lot of other issues )
The hourglass mineral veil primer, and I've heard good things about smashbox, and paulas choice shine stopped. The all contains ingredients that are similar to what M.O.M have without damaging the skin.

I just ordered samples of the Paula's Choice one. It seemed to have better reviews than the Smashbox one. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Paula's Choice sells sample packets so you can try it before you buy the full size?!

@emily, no I have not experienced that. My skin actually has improved (along with the use of other things) with my use of milk of magnesia. In like the 50s and 60s, it was actually used as an acne treatment too. Also, I've researched that alkalinity thing then I even asked my mom (nurse) and a couple doctors she works with. They said its not enough to change the ph of your skin and damage it. If you're still iffy about it then apply a moisturizer before the MOM.

I wasn't highly impressed with Hourglass Veil Mineral primer, I don't really think it's worth the money. Check out Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro.
