Beauty Product Reviews

New holy grail

For reference, I have oily, acne-prone skin with some redness on my nose, cheeks, and chin. I have been using this for a few months now and I am in love. I use it 3-4 times a week tops and I really do believe it has done wonders for my skin.

Full disclosure - I also stopped washing my face in the shower every morning, which I do think has helped A LOT too (I always thought it was gross when I would watch YouTube videos and a YouTuber would recommend not washing your face in the morning, but I totally understand the hype now and I do think it has helped tremendously). I quickly rinse with JUST warm (not hot) water in the shower every morning and that's it. No face wash, just water - no matter what products I put on my skin the night before.

As for skincare changes, I stopped using every new product that was released and stuck to a few key items, this being one of them. I think I have finally found a great routine for my skin (to the point where I'm actually somewhat comfortable going without makeup if I'm running errands).

My skin is SO soft the next morning and I wake up feeling confident and glowing. I went without makeup to something one evening and actually got a compliment on my skin - which hasn't happened in I don't know how many years. It felt really great!

I am thrilled that I found Good Molecules and can't wait to try other products from the line!

Why is there no translucent option?

I'll start by saying that this power is BEAUTIFUL. I use it with a Wayne Goss brush and get a stunning, long-lasting finish. I have incredibly oily skin and the oil still does come through when wearing this powder, but it doesn't break down the product like with other powders. I do still look like I'm wearing powder, but not nearly as much as when I wear other powder products. It really is a stunning product. However... I'm very, very pale. As in, "three pumps of white foundation added into the lightest shade of foundation" pale. This powder is considerably darker than my skin. I *can* even it out if I add bronzer to my neck, but I'm so shocked that CT doesn't offer a translucent version of this, especially considering there are only three shades available (and considering she's a makeup artist and should know that there are more than 3 shades of people). If she's only going to offer three shades, adding a translucent shade would at least cover the entire range of skin tones. I hate to give this product three stars because it is beautiful, but something has to change with the shade range.
