Matte! I ordered the Patent (shiny) ones from Nordstroms, wore them twice, returned them, and go the matte ones. The patent seemed like a good idea at first but I find them harder to wear with everyday things, a bit more uncomfortable, and a bit too fancy. I think you'll get more use out of matte ones.

I have patent "cherry red" ones and I'm in love. I like patent shoes over matte, the flat black is too dull in my opinion.

I have both! I have shiny red ones and matte black ones:) I think the matte black ones go with more, but if you like shiny then go with it:)
