What is the difference between pressed powder and loose powder? Also what is a good drug store kind to get for oily skin?

Lol the difference is one is pressed and one is loose. To my knowledge it comes down to preference, the do the same thing. Personally I use ELF's translucent powder.

Tip for oily skin: try applying milk of magnesia before your foundation.

Ya I know they looked different I just thought they were better for different things. Why translucent powder?

Loose powder is more finely milled, more natural finish, better/easier to build, and has more coverage. Pressed powder is less milled, more matte finish, less coverage, but more travel friendly.

Translucent powder matte-ifies your face makeup and makes it last longer. Tinted powder does the same thing but also gives some coverage. The great thing about translucent powder is that you don't have to match it to your skin color, and you can use it to matte-ify your lipstick too, which makes it last longer. They say that loose powder makes your makeup last longer than loose powder, but I don't believe that. Hope this helped!

Thanks guys. Julia you said they say loose powder makes your make up last longer than loose powder, what did you mean to say? Can I just use translucent powder and no foundation to matting my face? And is there drug store translucent powders?

Karly that's exactly what I do. Lol I apply my moisturizer and apply translucent powder on my forehead and nose and cheeks. I don't wear foundation.

Karly if you are carefull and neat a lose powder will do good but if your not it gets all over the place and can be a pain lol.

This is a little late but I meant that they say loose powder stays longer than pressed powder. Oops!
