Each time I watch a make-up tutorial, the girls always put on foundation, powder, contour their face and all.
Is that really necessary? I mean I only put on eye makeup nothing else. I don't even own all the foundation and all. But I don't have a perfect skin but I accept it as it is.
So does foundation and all really makes a look look good and finished or it isn't that important?

It all just depends on how you prefer your make up. Some girls like a full face of make up some like to look natural. There's no rule saying that you have to use every make up product on your face in order to be doing your make up right. It all just varies on how you prefer your make up.

I feel like it's necessary only when you're doing something dramatic. I wouldn't do dramatic eyes, and big lashes without filling in my eyebrows, or putting on a little concealer, I just feel there's something missing; But to each their own.

Its all about each persons preference, but personally I can't stand how it looks when people wear eyeliner and eyeshadow without it... To me strong eye makeup needs a flawless base and full foundation can wash you out thats why they do all that other stuff but again its to do with the person some people will say what I like looks fake or plastic.

You really can do whatever you'd like! I mean, makeup isn't even necessary, you know? personally I don't like how a done eye looks without any face makeup, its rather go without eye makeup and just have my face done. all preference, if just eye makeup works for you, rock it! I'd consider you lucky ;)

I think the makeup world has gone contour crazy!
so no, its not necessary. do what works for you. at 17 you definitely don't need foundation and concealer. just keep your skin healthy inside and out

^ agreed with Naomi, this world of makeup is about profit and instills a want or need to so many that may not understand it all.I think you can pull off a great full on eye with out having to use any other added makeup.I come from the other side of it all with applying on others you do so many different looks with and without the full effect of makeup. :-)

To be honest: I'm tired of "questions" like these! It's so frustrating. The "I don't know why people put other makeup that's not neutral" or "I don't know why people contour" Seriously, if it's not your thing: DONT DO IT. Simple. It's so unnecessary to do anything else. Other people have the right to wear what they want. If they feel like face makeup is essential for them. Then it's just that, FOR them. What's the purpose of being against makeup on a beauty forum. Seriously...

I don't think it's necessary if you're comfortable without it. Personally, I wear face makeup as well as eye makeup. I do think if you have darkness under your eyes and go for a bold eye look, concealing would make it look better. Just my opinion though.

I think it's amazing that you don't wear face makeup! Makeup gives people confidence if they are not happy with there skin, so it's amazing that you don't feel the need to do that!

I can only speak on myself but I love mixing things up. Sometimes I'll just go with mascara and lip gloss and other days I could go for the "works". I love the freedom of choice. Only do what you like Simran and don't worry about everyone else. You have beautiful features so just enhance what you personally like. ;)

To expand on my point. what I mean by contour crazy, is this. contouring has a purpose. to create shadows and highlights to change the face appearance. usually to make it slimmer and give more appealing angles. a lot of ppl don't need that esp for everyday and honestly don't achieve that with the way they apply the shading.
