Does anyone know how long to keep a foundation? Anyone from Revlon to Lorac to MAC? What about a mascara?

My Revlon foundation says 24 months...but then I looked at another and it said 12 I guess it depends on the brand.

I'm not sure about foundation but I'll keep it until it starts to smell "off" or the consistency changes. I treat mascara the same way because mascara goes bad fast for me.

foundation is usually good for a year.but if it smells or changes color toss ASAP

I normally only keep my foundation for 3 months. Although the bottle may have an expiration date, they usually start growing bacteria inside the moment you open it. For mascara, I toss it after a month. If it's unopened, I still feel like it expires just from sitting in there and previous shelf life.

mascara 3 months.i usually keep mines about 4 months or til its gone but for clients 3 months then toss

Mascara three months and for foundation.....when it starts to smell suspect and separate.

I never noticed the jar with a number on beauty products. It's the amount of months the product is good for after opening it. :-)
